Re: Letterman retiring next year

According to Wikipedia: Although espousing liberal political beliefs in his private life, Mr. Carson kept any discussion of these beliefs out of his public persona.

Re: Letterman retiring next year

QVC Forum Confession: I have never, ever seen one single episode of Letterman....or even Leno. Miss the days of Carson when guests were on...just to be on. They weren't there to promote something.

I DID venture down to Single-Digit TV last week to watch Jimmy Fallon. A friend of friend was on, Joby Owygn, to promote his jumping off Mt. Everest in a flight suit....but all Jimmy did was talk about himself. We didn't learn anything about Joby. These actors/comics turned talk show host like talking about themselves. Case in point.

Johnny Carson was MOR, which seems to be more reflective of his personality. He was a shy person when the cameras were off, and he stayed away from demonstrative politics altogether.

I'd miss The Report but Stephen Colbert would be fantastic.

Would it be Stephen Colbert the character or Stephen Colbert the real person?

Stephen Colbert the ""real person"" who is one intelligent and quick-witted man.

Fallon, oh good gravy. Is he gonna last? I can't even fall asleep watching him he's so boring.

There must be so much dreaming and scheming going on. Can you imagine how many people want his spot?
