I went to Clothes Mentor today to sell a bunch of handbags that I either don't use often or have never used. In case there is no Clothes Mentor in your area, it's a store that buys gently used clothes, accessories, etc. and then sells them. Unlike a consignment shop, they pay you cash right there.

One of the bags I was selling was a barely used B. Makowsky bag The woman at the store asked me where I had bought "all of those bags" and I said that most of them had come from QVC. Then she said that "due to B. Makowsky's association with QVC the value of his bags has declined", and that Macy's will no longer be carrying B. Makowsky bags. I also sold some Tig, Maxx New York and KVZ bags and she didn't mention those decreasing in value. I wonder if she said that about B. Makowsky bags because she knew it was a quality leather bag that I had paid good money for, and they didn't want to give me much for it. In fact, they said they would sell it for $100 and offered me $36 for it! I politely declined and brought the bag home! Maybe I'll put it on eBay. It makes me wonder whether she was being honest or just trying to get a good deal!
