I guess you don't know everything about them. Two are studying to be midwives and that is a very good way to earn a living.

NOT midwives as in "going to college"...midwives as in - learning from other Quiverfulls how to birth babies.

I don't blame these young women based on the actions of their brother.

There is so much TRUE GARBAGE out there being called "reality television."

I come across them channel surfing, but have not watched them - Real Housewives, Total Divas, nail salons, hair salons, Kendra On Top, Kardashians, Bruce/Caitlyn, etc etc

Now THOSE should be worthy of scorn.  I would take the Duggar sisters any day over 99% of what passes as reality television.

Wish they could truly train as certified nurse midwives.  But, it would require them to become RN'S, then additional schooling to be a midwife.  So, if they can't go to school, it can't happen.

Maybe if this new show is about these daughters, that's not so bad.  But they also covered it up and, it came to light, pretended like it was just nothing and, well, he said he was sorry.  (gag)

I do feel bad because these girls are uneducated and have no idea how to support themselves so, to them, it probably seems right to keep following this path.   This is the horrible ignorance over which they had no control.  Shame on people for raising kids like these parents did.  They still fancy themselves so far above others that it just makes me sick.

Great post, @chickenbutt.  They also spoke out against people when the very things they were condemning were going on in their own family.  Lots of examples, one is that when the father was running for public office he advocated the death penalty for r-pists and incestuous people while at the same time hiding the things we've learned about with Josh.  I have family and friends in the area, and I've always said those who knew the family were not fans by any stretch of the imagination.  They didn't just choose to live their life the way they wanted (by following some very unscrupulous leaders, by the way), they tried their best to use their influence in political campaigns.

That doesn't even get into the fact that they have no business bringing their religion into politics in the first place, but that's a whole 'nother Jerry Springer show.  heh

The Duggars was the top watched show on TLC, so they're trying to milk it for all they can.  I couldn't care less about their lives now or in the future.  There's certainly nothing extraordinary about them.

I am surprized at the comments here that are expressing such hate towards the Duggars. Guess the Pope's message fell on deaf ears.

No one hates the Duggars. The Duggars, BTW, might listen to the Pope themselves.

The have used the fame they got thru the TV show to show gross intolerance towards others - the OPPOSITE of Pope Francis.
