Lenticular Cloud Today

[ Edited ]

We get these Clouds several times a year over the Sandia Mts. East of Albuquerque.   Even in this UFO savvy community, they give pause to stop and wonder.... Weather conditions, especially winds, must be just right.

Wow! I've never seen that before.

I love looking at clouds. They form so many wonderful shapes.

Beautiful @Kachina624! I've never seen anything like this either. Actually they remind me of "flying saucers"!

We've been enjoying the snow moon here. The last thing I do before going up to bed at night is look at the moon for a long time. It gives me peace.

The snow moon is named for the typical strong snowfall that occurs this time of year. We have all had plenty of that! Of course any snow is too much for me. It's hard to notice we don't have deer coming up because they can't navigate the icy crust. DH and I saw a fox the other day. It's hard on them too because they can't find prey. So when I see the pretty shiny white surface, that's what I think about. We haven't even seen children sledding because the surface is too icy.

@beach-mom

I've been doing the same thing, taking time out to look at the moon.  So beautiful and peaceful.  And big!

Took this pic while on the porch last night.

Amazing! Add me to the list of those who've never seen this type of cloud.

Fascinating. I would be gawking at it all day, getting nothing done.

Nature is spectacular.
