Leland ‘Sugar’ Cain, top railroad chef in glory era, dead at 92

I know this may seem an odd article to post but if you have a chance to read it, it highlights some terrific memories of an era gone by and clearly the fine cuisine of one terrific chef (folks would board the train when it stopped in Chicago just to eat and then disembark before it left for it's next destination!):

@momtochloe

Thank you for this!  I love train travel & the dining cars.

Unfortunately, they are almost a thing of the past.

What a fascinating story!  My late uncle was also a "railroad man" back then and a member of the Sleeping Car Porter's Union.

This reminds me that I should renew my membership in the 20th Century Railroad Club ... It's a great way to travel ... with a few family members or with a group.
