In Leah's case --There was another woman already working there that had the same name so they asked her to change, Im glad she stood her ground and said no......
It happens....there were 2 other women with my same first name at my office, and they aked me to use a different name, so I had to use a family nickname to avoid confusion....Änd believe me I'm no celebrity and don't work on TV either...😎

Well @Spurt , I'd say you're already a celebrity on these forums! Good thing we don't know your real name.

I encountered the same situation as you. I once was hired at a veterinary hospital where the Dr's wife, who also worked there, had the same name as I did. They asked me if I would change my name so as to avoid confusion between us.
I just chose a name that I liked and enjoyed a new identity for a few years.

@Spurt & @J Town Girl - it's just my opinion but I think it was rude to ask you to change your name.

I was a newly hired employee and they had seniority and a higher grade..and it was just to eliminate confusion in the office...so I decided to play office politics since I needed the job and hoped to get promoted some day....And both those ladies did eventually retire which ended the problem......
