I'm having some very basic legal work done and I hadn't heard from my attorney in a long time. She called and said that she didn't have time to work on it and she felt very bad about it so she was handing it off to a friend of hers who has an office about an hour from here and a young associate in that office will be doing the work, but at my lawyer's fee.
Now this just isn't sitting well with me. If the associate was an employee in her office that would be one thing, but my lawyer does not even know the name of the associate in her friend's office. I think I should have been asked if this was alright and if this was not acceptable then I should have been able to choose another lawyer who had the time to do this probably boring and mundane work. I went there thinking I was getting that lawyer and that office.
I don't know much about the legal offices so this might be done everyday, but it keeps nagging at me.
