And I hope this satisfies all those who asked why the Guthrie family didn't put up a reward of their own and also said "what about all the other missing people" who don't get this kind of attention.
Clearly, the Guthrie family is aware of all of this. But when it's your family member, your loved one, who has clearly been kidnapped (not just wandered off, run away), your focus is on that person. It doesn't mean you're unaware of the suffering in the rest of the world. You're caught up in the immediate moment.
My prayers, for what they're worth, are with Nancy's family, in the hope they can bring her home and find some measure of peace.
I do doubt, however, that anyone who did this has any shred of humanity.

Unfortunately, I agree. ![]()

I think the new plea may hit someone who knows the perpetrator in some way. The criminal may be reveling in the family's torment and pain.

Maybe a girlfriend or ex-wife who no longer cares about the man. It happens.

Hoping the big reward will bring an end to this mystery. I've felt all along that someone knows who the man on the porch is.

Savannah’s $1 million reward might appeal to someone’s emotions. But, from a behavioral standpoint, a reward of that magnitude functions primarily as a financial incentive. If it motivates anyone to come forward, it will be because the monetary value is significant, not because the reward itself evokes an emotional response. Greed drives human behavior in situations like this.
The family is suffering through an agonizing period of uncertainty, and they appear reconciled to the possibility that what comes next may involve her remains.
Heartbreaking!

Since the family reward is tied to the return of Nancy and not the identity of the abductor someone with knowledge of Nancy's location might be more willing to come forward.
If I understood the increased FBI reward that also was only tied to Nancy's return but there is a trust issue that would have to be considered by anyone with knowledge.
I hope the reward information is also being advertised in Mexico just in case Nancy had been taken there.

The perp is someone's family member. Would you turn in a family member for $1M?

@SilleeMee - if I knew for certain that a family member of mine were responsible, they wouldn't need to incentivize me with money at all. I'd turn them in.
