I just loved her style, her deep voice, her roles with Bogart - especially DARK PASSAGE. She went from model to movies to Broadway, did it all really well. Glad they gave her an Honorary Oscar in 2009, but too bad they didn't televise her acceptance! She lived a long happy life. Bye, bye Betty, she's back with Bogie!

She was very young when she made her first film with Bogart. He was clearly smitten. She was a great beauty and a fine actress. Condolences to her family.

She was gorgeous! Another Hollywood Icon from the golden days gone. Very sad.

Together again. RIP Betty

Saw To Have and Have Not recently (for the umpteenth time!) and it is still a favorite.

HB calls her "Slim" and she comments that she doesn't care for the name, but he uses it anyway. So many memorable lines and scenes.

Such a lovely, classy woman and fabulous on the big screen!

I recently saw a special with Kirk Douglas on TCM, he stated that he and Lauren have been close friends since their school days, said he did make advances towards her years ago and she turned him down. She helped him to get his first movie role .

I saw her in person a few years ago when she must have been in her later 70s, getting out of a cab in front of the Ritz hotel in Boston. She had that star-power still, that glow. Fabulous looking woman.
