I am overwhelmed by the task of sorting and keeping up with laundry. I sort into so many loads, and then I never feel caught up. Since one of my daughters is married and the other is in college, I am now only doing laundry for 3, but the task has really not diminished much.

I just read a tip from a lady who started a new laundry routine. She does each person's laundry separately in a load. For example, I could do my laundry on one day, my DH's the next, my daughter's the next, and perhaps a load of towels the 4th day. Then, I could start over again. I would be doing just one load a day, so the task would not be quite as overwhelming.

It seems strange to do all of my laundry together in one load, but with the new color catchers, the lady explained that nothing runs. Several other people also reported that they used this method and that it was so freeing to sort this way. One person suggested using white vinegar instead of the color catchers to keep colors from running. All of the people in the discussion said that they always do towels separately because of the fuzz, but that everything else went into one load.

Has anyone tried this? What do you ladies think?

Oh, I forgot to mention that sheets are also done separately.
