Laundry Sorting Question

When you sort your laundry, into how many categories do you sort? I sort by color, and I think I am just doing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many different loads. Do any of you use the color catcher products? Maybe that is my answer.

When I bought my new washing machine, the instruction booklet suggested sorting by fabric rather than color. Maybe with the color catchers, that is the best idea. I would love to hear how you ladies sort.
