Tide Pods with Fabreeze. I add Oxiclean and use hot water for bright whites or use regular Chlorox for items I want to sanitize.

@nana59,    I buy the new Tide in the yellow container that costs less.  It does get the clothes very clean.  Cat Very Happy

I buy a generic "free and natural" pod, as my skin does get rashes from products with perfumes.  My local grocer, Publix, sells the one I buy right now, but I buy a brand if it is on sale or BOGO.

I use Planet  because it is not tested on animals.

Costco's Kirkland pods.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Tide Free or All Free & Clear liquid -- depends which has the better price. No fragrance or color.

I've been making our laundry detergent for years. Fels Naptha bar soap, Arm & Hammer Washing Soda & 20 Mule Team Borax. The boys like to add the different color "freshening crystals" because they make it look pretty & more fun, but it doesn't do anything extra & they are expensive. I will do it for my grandsons, though. :}  I always used Tide, but since I switched I have been very happy. It gets my laundry clean. Anything that my husband, 2 dogs & 5 grandsons can throw at it. And, my husband never mentioned it before, but he said that in the summer when he would sweat his clothes would smell sour. He doesn't have that problem with the homemade. So it's cheap & it works.

@Dusty1  This is the recipe I use as well.  I use three bars of Fels Naptha, one box of super washing soda, one box of borax, and I also mix in one lb. of baking soda.  I use vinegar for the rinse.

I think the bleach could disolve the pellets, so I wouldn't use it.  What pellets are different?  I thought you put one package of white and one of the black into the each egg.  I don't see any different pellets, other than the white and black.  There were only two black and more of the white.

@saltysails, there are two slightly different colors: white and a pale yellow. In the directions it will explain which goes in which. You will want to make sure to get the right ones in the white egg for brightness in your whites.

Read the instructions, @saltysails, and see if you can see the difference. If the same, call customer service and they will send you the pale yellow.

Thank you so much for getting back to me.  I had the wrong pellets in the colored egg.  Both eggs are now filled with the correct pellets.

ARM & HAMMER plus OxiClean - liquid, three scents.

Nothing like baking soda for odors and Oxi for stains.
