Re: Laughable Moments on QVC

I just listened to the one with Leah,

again (youtube) and it really is funny.

I think it is just so surprising-this nice sounding lady talking about Denim and Co and how she likes this brand, conversing with Leah, and all of a sudden in a kind of cackly scratchy voice-"Do you see I'm on the f... phone!

And leah's reaction.

She is just the best!

haha i'm still laughing.

But I still wouldn't want to know that lady.

Who is Pebbles?

I probably haven't been watching as long as some of you, as I only found QVC in 98/99.  But one thing that always made me laugh was when Rick and Dave King were in a hallway, wearing lederhosen, and dancing.   It was cute and very funny.

Ahhhh!  Thank You so much.  Smiley Happy   I was trying to pick up on clues and I didn't get anywhere.   But I really haven't watched Susan Graver, at least not for years.   I was kind of hoping that Pebbles was a pet and not a person, from the description of the event.  Smiley Very Happy

I will, but I still remember Leah having to deal with that like it was yesterday. I forget about using YouTube. I need to check out the others that were mentioned.

This is an oldie.  Dan Hughs was demonstrating a clothes steamer and decided to try it on a "tender" spot on the pants he was wearing!  His remark after he recovered from the pain was "That is going to leave such a mark!"  What a sport!

I remember watching a clothing TSV one time. It was for a big tunic T-shirt -- which came pre-knotted with a little knot with a little tail on it, dangling right in the middle of the front of the hem. Let's just say it was very poorly placed. I can't say what it made everyone wearing it look like, but it sure made me giggle a lot.

The "soap opera" promos for Joan Rivers shows. She and Rick Domier were hilarious. Her models were in on the fun and some other hosts. Priceless!

I think the Q's funniest moment came when Mike Rowe was a host.  He was so irreverent, he made every presentation hysterically funny.  He surely didn't take QVC seriously.  Watch some of his old videos on YouTube.

I remember one night, Mike Rowe, had to present some Christmas gifts for kids.  It was the doll that was about 4 feet tall and it had elastic attached to each foot.  The child was to put the elastic around each of his/her own feet and  pretend you were dancing with the doll.

Leave it to Mike, to put the doll on his own feet and, of course, the doll's head was just about below his belt level.  After a few dance spins around the QVC floor, he looks at the doll and says, "sweetheart, let's go outside for a drag."

Watching him was a riot!  I miss those QVC days!
