Re: Latest on the Salinas Romaine lettuce outbreak and investigation

Signs and symptoms of E. coli O157:H7 infection typically begin three or four days after exposure to the bacteria, though you may become ill as soon as one day after to more than a week later.  Taken from e.coli symptoms and causes Mayo Clinic.

@Mindy D We're finding we can never be too careful. It's good you're keeping up with, AND, sharing the newest reports. This takes a lot of your time. For myself, sometimes I fall behind on the news and I could be eating the very thing we've been cautioned about. Good job!

That's reassuring then. I'll be fine! Smiley Happy

@riley1 I have heard this from two posters. Something is strange because the CDC is still warning consumers not to eat Romajne from Salinas. CDC is not saying this recall has changed. In fact, CDC is reporting more E. coli illness and death. This is an ongoing outbreak. Maybe something is going on I don’t know about, but I’d take what the CDC is saying  until it changes its recommendation.
