The truth is that we will never truly know if they knew or not. I tend to think that they probably didn’t know. The university president is right to protect the university and, therefore, I believe that’s evidence that they didn’t know. That’s what lawyers would advise them.

HUH?  You either believe hundreds of young women vs a university that extremely clearly did not, and does not, give a ****, or you don’t. I can’t imagine how protecting the university (which wouldn’t need protecting if it carried no blame) is more important than what happened to 300 young women.  Surely you can’t possibly believe that no one was ever told, with 300 victims? That simply defies any kind of logic.

Of course their attys would advise them to obfuscate in high gear, throw any kind of smoke or shade they can come up with, and denydenydeny. Who would expect anything else?

Ethics and conscience have nothing to do with any of this as far as the university goes, no matter what they say. Deeds please, not words. I see no appropriate deeds forthcoming from Univ Mi.

It's Penn State all over again. Money at the root of all the evil.

I was thinking the same thing @Greeneyedlady21

I was as well.  My son graduated from Penn State the semester before the big scandal broke and though he had a great college experience he was very upset about what had happened.  He's so upset with the university that he has no desire to go back for an alum visit.
