Thailand's officials said a woman had to have her leg amputated at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport after the limb became trapped under a moving walkway, according to reports.
The 57-year-old Thai woman, who was due to board a morning flight became caught by the walkway in the Bangkok airport’s Terminal 2.
A medical team there eventually had to cut her left leg off above the knee, according to the airport's officials.

Oh how horrible. She must have been in excruciating pain when that happened.

Long time ago I read about a horrible leg injury as a man was boarding a plane.
There is a "flap" that connects the jet bridge to the air craft. It apparently collapsed causing a man's leg to be badly injured.
I always step over this connector.

Change in body image is one the most difficult things for patients to deal with. I hope she has a good support system and I wish her well.

A similar thing can happen with escalators. You have to be very careful that a piece of your clothing doesn't get caught in the mechanism and drag you in with it. I've known people who've lost shoes this way.

Just imagine the unsanitary conditions for major surgery. What could be more filthy than a busy, public sidewalk?
Surely they anesthized the poor woman.

Another reason to hate airports and flying....you could actually lose a leg.
