New Jersey gas tax to rise by nearly 10 cents, will rank among highest in nation.

Will take effect on Oct. 1, due to lower fuel consumption trends that have been "exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic."

Howdy neighbor!  In the land of over taxation on EVERYTHING....Our fuel prices in NY are the highest they have been in ages!  Nearly $2.45/gal

No reduction there.

Groceries have been higher, gasoline & insurance lower. Made my 14th QVC purchase last Friday. I try to buy TSV's, Big Deals and As Is. Face it, QVC doesn't offer any great deals.

@AuntG

If you are shopping LTS and PTS, yes you can get great deals on the Q!!

I have grabbed some things at great discounts!  (has nothing to do w/ Covid)

Re: LOWER prices due to COVID?

[ Edited ]

Whether airfare has gone down or not depends on the airline and flight.  I was looking for flights to Florida for next April and the price is not only triple what I was going to pay this past April for a flight to Florida for a cruise, but none of the flights are nonstop anymore.  I have no desire to spend 6+ hours getting to Florida.

I happened to check flights just last night to Florida for the end of September/beginning of October (just for a looksee) and again, flights were a lot more and no nonstop.

OTOH, friends of mine just went to Vegas on Frontier and their flight cost them $5.00.  No, that is not a typo.  They are going again next month and their flight was 12.00.

Gas has gone up significantly here from what it was in March but I think some of the gas price decrease wasn't necessarily due to Covid.

Many food prices are up and camping prices for campgrounds are definitely higher.  Some of them have practically reached hotel status.  LOL

Aside from the price of gold, jewelry items seem to have come down in price especially pieces with gemstones.

Gasoline, still hovers just above the 2.00 mark to 2.38.  Food is berserko, so is paper goods.  Meat seems to have settled back down, some nice sale prices this week.  Processed meat like ham is really high, though.
