LOG HOUSE WHERE DOSTOEVSKY GOT MARRIED, STILL STANDING

Thought it was cool that this log structure where Dostoevsky married Marya Constant in the 1800's (she had a small apartment in the building) is still standing and in such good shape.  Understandably, it's a museum now.

Then I got onto looking into other old wooden buildings in Russia and found out about Tomsk, which has remarkable old architecture:

Some have an eerie quality, some have a cheery, rococo, slightly demented vibe!  They remind me a bit of our own "Painted Ladies".

Tons more, if you google "Tomsk".

I thought they were too, @ECBG..    When I look at some of those images, I feel transported to an old Slavic fairy tale....

The European version of a log house, I like it. It's not exactly, little house on the prairie that some of us are used to. LOL
