Deanie has a right to her way of doing things. If I remember her posts correctly, she's done very well for herself. She's not pushing her way of doing things on you.

Disagreeing is not an attack. I didn't see anyone attack Deanie.

If one reads the posts to her, some of it is more denigrating than disagreeing.

Actually what she said made no sense to me. I didn't see it as traditional and values. I didn't get it at all.
And I think I have traditions and values, thank you very much.

I wrote a post to her and there was no attack on her, I also acknowledged she had a right to her opinion, it was just something I wouldn't do, and I saw others disagree with the "strategy", not her as a person.
There's no call for pot stirring.

I agree. Talk about attacking someone, implying the rest of us don't have values IS an attack.

No one here has any control over what another poster does IRL. I take issue with the idea that relationships are a game. It has nothing to do with living together or not which is the actual topic of the thread.

My husband and I (second husband, I was widowed and he was divorced) married rather than live together mainly because I wanted him to be my husband not my boyfriend. Well, at our age 54 and 59 when we met - boyfriend would have just sounded silly. I wanted him to be my kids stepdad and grandpa to the grands and greatgrands. That and our strong church connection (that is where we met) made the choice very, very easy. ![]()

Congrats on your long marriage! Thats wonderful!
I am old fashioned too and believe in marriage not living together. BUT its the new way so I don't get involved, as in if someone lives together thats up to them!
I can say this, I don't think it has to do with a marriage breaks up or stays together if you live together or not though. I think there's so many divorces now days because people make little arguments into mountains and dont work on their marriages. (Of course I'm not saying one should put up with abuse or cheating) But I mean people don't work on their marriages, too self centered maybe?
Anyway I am married for the 2nd time as of almost 10 years ago. I did not live with my husband before marriage. And I dated him from 1999 until we got married in 2007, so I had a long wait until he proposed. lol.. (I also didn't live with my first husband either before we married but my first marriage ended in divorce anyway due to his cheating).
