Doesn't smiling "Finn" look like the sweetest Golden Retriever therapist ever?
Seven year old Brantley Murray suffered very bad burns in an accident, and will have to spend Christmas in Baton Rouge General Hospital.
He is being helped and sustained there by Finn, an adorable service dog who ministers to patients there at least three times a week.
I love the way Finn settles on the bed, and he and his human hospital volunteer friend, Frank Ewing, bring their atmosphere of love and peace to Brantley and his worried mom.
I don't know if you can spot it in the still shot, but in the local news video of the story, you can actually see the kindness in Frank's eyes as he explains what he and Finn do.
Columnist Rod Dreher has put out a request for prayers for little Brantley, who is in a great deal of pain right now. Am glad he has some Christmas angels looking out for him.
Hoping all of us, whatever our circumstances might be, have the happiest Christmas and holidays possible.

Wishing for a Christmas blessing for this little boy. Always heartbreaking to see little ones in distress. Finn deserves some extra tasty gifts from Santa. He’s a prince.

Really sweet story. Just looking at that dog's face made me feel better from afar.
We always had some visiting in the hospital where I worked. They not only helped the patients, they helped the stressed staff, as well.

Finn is undoubtedly a therapy dog, not a service dog. Goldens are perfect for this duty.

I'm convinced that Goldens are nurses/angels in disguise!![]()

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Golden Retrievers!!!!! Ours will be 9 in March. I enjoy her every minute of every day. Never have I seen such sweetness in a dog. She has a brother who is a therapy dog. ❤

In defense of the breed, I must say Collies have the same disposition as Goldens, the difference being they herd while Goldens retrieve.

We do not deserve these beautiful animals. God bless that child and Finn.
