@waterlily wrote:@PinkSunset What is the difference in the media reporting it and what you're doing on this forum? You brought it to everyone's attention in the same way just not ALL the details.
huh? I'm not a news source, am I? The media already released the details and whether I brought it up or not anyone reading the news would come across it one way or another.
If they had not released all these details neither I nor anyone else would know about it. Which I would have preferred. Have you lost sight of the question I originally asked about why it was necessary to divulge all these details to the world?

@Mindy D wrote:I tried to read the Sac Bees account but I was over my free article limit so I read the FOX News account online. I’m sure the account was not as graphic as others here are citing. One thing I did get from this is that some life might be saved because of the report. It states that a rock of meth placed internally, anywhere in the body can lead to an overdose and death. Hopefully, this information might save someone’s life. The newsman’s passing is a sad event. It is a shame that the circumstances of his death are being exploited but every cloud does have a silver lining. Let’s hope this becomes a cautionary tale.
Bravo.. I think you make some very good points here...my thoughts too. Me personally(?)...I find what he and his friend were doing as horrifying...call me a prude...I can live with it.
I wish people would think before doing what they are drawn to...how would my family react if it...ALL goes wrong.

Yes, it’s sad; it’s tragic. However, a well-known local anchor checks into a hotel and is later found dead. There is no way that this story could remain secret. The press becomes the messenger; that’s all.

No, I don't think the public has the right to know every dirty little detail. My heart goes out to his wife and daughter. I don't know how old his daughter is, but she will eventually see the write up about her father. What a horrible thing to know about a parent. There is definitely no privacy in this age of social media.

His Twitter account is pretty open..talking about family, etc.
It’s that emotional connection which makes the Public
want to know more about his death...not the edgy details.
He seemed like a nice guy..and I’m sure individuals were
influenced by him & his profession. Lots of kids intern for
personalities in media outlets...I’m sure he would not be any different.
Though, it drives me crazy when people say,
“oh (random Public Figure) is such a good role model”
No. You don’t know anything about a random stranger to be
annointed a ‘role model’ no matter how much they influenced you.
Maybe this story will be that lesson.

His wife & little girl are precious.
Hopefully they have a strong faith/family/friends base
to get through this difficult time & for the times ahead.

My heart just breaks for his daughter and his parents.

Doesn't bother me at all, he's a public figure, shrugs.

@qbetzforreal wrote:Pretty sure that his wife, family, friends and collegues knew about his lifestyle. How could they not unless they were in denial. The Coronor's Office always issues a cause of death especially under suspious circumstances. He died in Days Inn in Glendale.
The coroners office issues a cause of death for the death certificate so the person can be buried (or cremated). COD - drug overdose, heart attack caused by drugs. Enough said. The graphic details of how it happened are not part of any death certificate. And I doubt that any of those people knew about this type of lifestyle. Do you really think his wife would stay married to him (and sleep with him) if she knew he was doing this kind of thing? If I had a young child and knew my spouse was involved in this behavior I'd run! Things like that don't stay private for long and maybe she would have found out from kids in school when she was a bit older. Terrible.

Nothing is private anymore. Anything goes these days. Just to put it into perspective. I googled C. Burrous autopsy report and up popped the QVC posts.
