annointed a ‘role model’ no matter how much they influenced you.
Maybe this story will be that lesson.

Not to speak ill of the dead, but I found him to be incredibly obnoxious when he was on our local morning show. I enjoyed the show as a whole, just not him. Color me surprised when I was in the LA area on vacay and saw him. He had really toned it down but I was still surprised that he had become "beloved".

You mean like when Maria Shriver knew Arnold had an affair with their housekeeper and fathered a son and stayed with him anyway? Lke that? The child was a secret even from his father and the maid was working there everyday. Not ever woman will stay with a man who makes a lot of money.

Umm I don't know what that has to do with this story but since you brought it up, I don't believe Maria was completely blindsided by that relationship. My point is unless you are there, you don't know what someone's boundaries are in a marriage, period.

you brought up the topic of people knowing about these secret lives and staying around for the money and it not being uncommon. I brought up one example of someone who didn't. I'm sure there are more. It is not common among my family, friends or colleagues.

@SydneyH . I agree that she may have been aware and stayed for whatever reason. But I doubt if she knew the ‘details of his transgressions ‘.

There were a couple of gofundme accounts set up for his wife and daughter after he died. It will be interesting to see if they now get shut down or if there will be an influx of money for them as a result of this.
