I'm not going to copy and paste it here because well, frankly, it's disgusting, But you can find the details by Googling it, or go to Yahoo front page news. it's there.
All I wanted to say is, why does the media or the medical examiner give to the media all the details of someone's death when they are well-known? Doesn't HIPAA laws protect the deceased as well?
Do people need to know the step by step details of how someone died? How about just saying a "drug overdose" if anything needs to be said at all., thousands of people die every day and no one broadcasts the details of their death but the media feels its their obligation to do it when the public knows someone from tv, sports, or movies?
This man had a wife and daughter and I cannot imagine how awful it would be to see my name in an article talking about how my husband died.
What do you all think about releasing all this information? Do you think the public has a right to know when it comes to well known people?

Oh my gosh @PinkSunset , my hair stood up on end when I read the article. It was so disgustingly graphic. It ran like a pornographic story. All I kept thinking about was his poor wife and daughter. It was really not necessary to go into such detail. I never read a news article like that.

@PinkSunset We always had his news channel on in the morning at work, and we were all curious when he passed away so suddenly.
Frankly, IMO it's not necessary to bring up any details. How awful for his wife and young child to have to deal with the public aware of all the details.
Even if the wife was the only one to know, how sad for her.
You just never know what goes on in someone's personal life - we only knew him by what we watched on the local news.
Drug overdose would have been more then enough for the public to know.

I imagine his family is extremely upset about this.

I agree that "drug overdose" would be plenty enough information for the general public. I immediately thought of his wife and his parents. Awful enough for them, without the details being widely disseminated.

Before anyone begins to get upset with the press or anyone else giving
the details, myabe the anger should be directed to the deceased.
Obviously, HE didn’t care.
I question the full accuracy when officials said he used drugs ‘recreationally’.
I think they were being nice...someone doesn’t YOLO on drugs
like that without consistent use. IMO they were obviously giving
the surviving family a break with that tidbit. And my guess is
she probably knew his drug & risky sexual behavior was going on.

In this era of social media access and a TMZ/National Enquirer news reporting style this is what we get now....TMI
Since his death involved use of illegal drugs it looks like details could be disclosed under HIPPA LAWS for deceased person....
When responding to an off-site medical emergency, as necessary to alert law enforcement about criminal activity, specifically, the commission and nature of the crime, the location of the crime or any victims, and the identity, description, and location of the perpetrator of the crime (45 CFR 164.512(f)(6)).

Even if it is information that might be shocking to some... it is news. He lead a double life. Many people do. And he was a public figure. If he was a no body, than nothing would have been said about it.
@PinkSunset Why is it disgusting? Is it disgusting what he was doing in your eyes? Many people do what he did. It is not disgusting.... it is just the way he was. News is news. Everyday public figures are called out for doing " the dirty deed". Nothing alarming about it at all.
I am sure his wife found out what was going on before it came out in the news. Who knows... perhaps she already knew about his double life.

@sidsmom , I'm just curious if you read the article that gave a VERY detailed account of what went on in the motel room between the 2 men. It wasn't about the use of drugs per se, it was the manner in which they were used. They toned down some of the details from the time I read the article at night til the following morning. I can't see where they were being nice in any way.

No. I read the article...where he vomited in his S&M mask,
Again, why should we edit his death? If we didn’t edit all of his
living praise and accolades, we shouldn’t edit his demise.
Again...HE was the one to choose to walk down this dark path.
