Kurt Thomas, gymnast, dies at 64

Sad, sad news. I watched him over the years. My sympathies to all who loved him.

 

He died of a tear of the basilar artery in the brain stem, which caused him to have a severe stroke on May 24.

 

Unfortunately, he was unable to compete in the Olympics since the U.S. boycotted them in 1980.

It is sad.  The first great male US gymnast.  RIP.
