I think I know who Tim Gunn is, but may have to google him.  He looks like Anderson Cooper a little?

Don't know the Dugards really, they're part of this story how?

Kanye West, bleck.  I think I like the Kardashians more than him!

Tim Gunn shared his opinion on the vulgarity of the K clan.  I shared mine- which is the Ks are not nearly as vulgar as the Duggars.

In the spirit of Dueling Banjos, there never seems to be a loss of that which is vulgar in the world.

Its not a competition. Although some vulgarians cause us to think it is sometimes as they flood the media and cultural landscape - competing seemingly to define the term..

I recall being on a jury trial once in which a meth dealer was killed as an inside job. I recall the state's prosecutor's opening argument which explained to we, the jury, that we'd meet NO ONE called to witness that we'd much like or admire. I mean, just because one player is on trial doesn't mean all the rest in their world are much better.

In other words, when it comes to vulgarians or offensiveness, sadly, there has been too much room for both the Kardashians and the Duggars (and, to be honest, a whole roster more). lol

The (Kardashian) FASHION problem with this photo, though, is that one isn't absolutely sure if they're going to a costume ball or if its their Halloween costumes or if its a birthday party in West Hollywood or if they're attending the Tonys or if its the bridal attrire for one of their 4th weddings. lol

I like TIm Gunn. When asked the craziest thing he has seen in fashion, he responded seeing Anna Wintour getting carried down 5 flights of stairs. Her people really wanted him to retract that statement and he said he wouldn't because it was true. They really didn't like that.

I neither love or hate the Kardashians. They certainly have made something out of nothing. I don't understand that kind of vanity and the constant selfies. To me, that seems just so narcissistic but if that makes them happy, more power to them. I do not understand Kims need to try to make her swollen feet fit into shoes they should be in. I think it looks absolutely ridiculous and painful. Some pregnant women just get swollen feet and I don't understand the need to not just take a break wearing crazy shoes that would only make it worse.

Maybe its her idea of compression sandals or somethin'. lol

Like you say, a real gentleman wouldn't continue to speak poorly of everyone.  But, as somebody else said, talking trash about the Kardashian's is pretty much a guarantee to get in the headlines.  After all, he's in showbiz too.

I think that there is a real problem though which he must identify clearly as it affects the world of fashion.

As far as bad taste and vulgarity, he points to the Kardashians themselves.

But the original question of him was about Kanye West's clothing line. And as such, he answered it honestly and clearly. It is not fashion and is, instead, a detriment to that which is genuine fashion (not to be confused with merely clothing oneself as though one were just expelled from the Garden of Eden).

Fashion is an art form and as such it has a continous dialogue with all which is and which came before it. Even when something is radically different or edgy, it is only perceived as such because on does have or regards those items considered to be the classics.

But even in that sense, bad fashion is still technically fashion. New fashion is still fashion. Avant garde fashion is still fashion.

But what Tim Gunn is identifying and denouncing is the fact that Kanye West's line is not fashion at all. It is derivitive nothingness built on a lack of understanding of the entire fashion dialogue or its purpose.

So Tim Gunn was discussing two related but different issues: the K's vulgarity in fashion and social culture AND the lack of any merit when its comes to Kanye West's self-indulgent, vanity (non-) "fashion" line of clothing.

As Gunn and others are well versed in genuine fashion, he knows of that which he speaks. And one must defend the art and craft of genuine fashion else one loses all sense of its contribution and meaning.

ALSO, recently Kanye West received a very controversial Honorary Doctorate from perhaps the best art school in America. Much to the distress and chagrin of its students and others, he was given this honor as he pushes his clothing line. Its something never quite bought, er, seen before. And so that, too, offends many as its not earned and appears to be another purchased feather in a vain divo's (poorly designed) hat.

So when someone is not only coming out with a line of nothing clothing but is granted honorary awards using it as a some sort of leveraging tool, people must speak out to denounce it.

For the Emperor Has No Clothes. Or in Kanye's case, the Emperor's Just Got Reeeeally Bad Clothes. lol

Before I couldn't stand the Kardashians. Now with all their money they don't have wealth. I feel sorry for them.  Do they ever have peace and serenity as it seems to be problems and drama constantly?

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

I understood that. lol

But the problem remains that with that clan, it could have been a Gatsby party or a baby's christening or the ribbon cutting for a new toenail salon.

That would be the fashion problem specific to them.

I don't think there is anything gentlemanly about publicly slamming other people.
