I prefer to choose the charity where the proceeds from my purchase goes. The Q gets a huge write off and good publicity so it's hardly a kudos to them.

You still can choose. No one is forcing you to participate.

I'm glad they do it and it seems everybody wins, but when it gets down to it, it seems most of the merchandise is comprised of items that aren't really current and aren't really selling like hotcakes anyway. In essence, it's about the only true 'clearance' event the Q does, with charity being the main beneficiary. I do think they deserve kudos, but I'm also not seeing it as more than it is.

The point was whether or not the Q deserved kudos.

IMO it's a very very worthy cause and I'm sure there are folks at QVC who work very hard to pull this off every year. They could've just had programming as usual, but instead dedicated 2 hours to the event and raised over 7 million dollars for cancer research. In my book that's a very good thing that should be repeated every year.

I agree. And I had a bad experience last time so I no longer buy during these events. I just give the money straight to charity.
