ABC will have their own pre-show without her.

RE: Oscars being 'overhyped'

The reason is in our own backyard.

Unfortunately the first time Joan Rivers asked 'Who are you wearing?',

the fashion industry avalanche began.  It was amazing marketing for the designers & stylists and it provided many magazines/blogs/new stations a topic-of-conversation of 'fashion' during & days/weeks after the event.  And on that note, even 3rd tier award shows finally got exposure due to the fashion angle.  Fashion is almost bigger than the award show itself.  "Fashion" was a fresh, new idea 15 yrs ago, but it's a stale 'bit' today.  Someone needs to come up with a new idea.

All because our sweet, greatly missed, Joan Rivers.

She had the power to make the red carpet (thing)

into a Red Carpet (event).

To me there is nothing glamorous about today's stars in general. Their gowns are not elegant, most of the time it's see thru, exposing...just really tasteless. ITA!!!  I haven't watched awards shows in a very very long time but I would love to see the gowns afterwards.  I was getting a little disgusted the last couple of years so this year I didn't even bother looking.  I wish they would bring back class and elegance to Hollywood.

I thought Kris did a good job hosting the pre-red carpet.  I also think she looks great. Since fashion is part of the awards, I'm always looking forward to who is wearing what.  I don't think I've ever seen  something offensive in terms of too much skin.

@sidsmom She was something else. There's no one like her, and there never will be.

Can't help but think if we were transported to 1930,

we would be having this same conversation.

Gene Harlow.

Pretty exposing...especially for 1929.

It's Hollywood, in all spectrums of the word.

Always has been; always will be.

No one is saying that it was high collar, but today, it is a competition who can wear less and expose more.  I don't mind risqué, but I find today's Hollywood boring.

That could be possible to maintain her luxurious lifestyle in one of the most expensive cities in the country.  But, I never really had anything against her....maybe I just missed those episodes that displayed her horns and tail.  Instead, I saw a working mom who did everything she could to bring wealth to her children despite being called every name in the book for infractions that only made sense to the infantile part of the brain of her children who publicly spewed it.
