I came here because I need advice without all the snarkiness, so please try to help me formulate how I deal with a friend who talks practically non-stop. I have known her for a long time, but I just got to know her better in the last year.
She finishes my sentences for me--even if it wasn't the direction I was going with the thought! She knows everything and could talk the ears off a bunny rabbit.
I happen to attend church with her, and she is very negative and critical about everything going on at the church. That especially brings me down. If I try to defend the other position--I just don't get to. She gossips about everyone with the prelude "I don't mean to gossip, but..."
We travel in the same circles, so just cutting it off with her wouldn't be good. But, honestly I have to at least address the church thing. I know it sounds like I'm writing to Dear Abby--but I just dread talking to her anymore. Please help nicely.
