Kitchen Aid Coffee Maker - anyone have this?

KitchenAid KCM1402QG 14-Cup

Hi - we just purchased this from Amazon.com - we've always had Bunn, but our Bunn is leaking now, and new ones are over $100.00 so we thought we'd try something different, and this was $72.00. Anyone have this? It'll be different as we can program it to make coffee in the morning for us. Didn't have that with Bunn. But I might miss the reservoir the Bunn has. We'll see.

I used to have one, with a thermal carafe. Used it for several years & was always happy with it. The only reason I gave it to Goodwill was because I cut way down on my coffee consumption & it's just too hard to make 2 good cups in any coffeemaker, so I got a Keurig so I can just make 1 cup at a time. I don't like reheating coffee, either.

Hope you enjoy yours!

Reheated coffee doesn't sound good.

We had one we got at Dillard's. Paid about $100.00 for it. It broke down after the warranty was up. so we trashed it. We wanted red at the time and couldn't find any others.

Enjoy yours though.

I'm sorry to read that, mm, that's awful!! I might miss the Bunn, but we'll give this a try. I see there isn't many here that have it.

VCamp - The thermo carafe sounds good too.

Same for me. It makes great coffee and the 14 cup capacity works for us. When it breaks, I will buy it again.

I think any coffee maker is a dice throw no matter how much you spend.

The only pots I haven't really liked are those by Mr. Coffee. It seemed to give the coffee a strange taste.

I've never had a Mr. Coffee maker, but we do have the Mr. Coffee Grinder that lasts forever!! I can't even remember when we got it, it's been around 20 years!

We will love the 14 cup capacity of the Kitchen Aid. We also have the Kitchen Aid food processor I would not like to live without, got that on Ebay.

The Bunn Maker is quick to make coffee - I wonder how fast the new one will be?

gloriajean, that's a nice one you got.. we went through several until we came upon this one..

Cuisinart DTC-975BKN Thermal 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black at Amazon. I broke the carafe so ordered another one and then ordered another coffeemaker for just in case ours quits. I devised a scrub brush for the stainless steel pot- took an old meat fork, put a copper scrub on the end securely, turned the two tines up and whala, it works like a charm.

Enjoy yours!!!
