At my age (63), I would love to be called girl!

Come on folks, it'd 2016 and it's time to retire the old stereotypes. As we older people fade away I think the younger generation of women will reject the notion that they are girls and demand the respect they are due. Words have power, we all know that.

Of course, it's just as easy to speak of an adult audience in terms of men and women... or to simply say "anyone can learn to use it"...
EXACTLY........!!!!
It's like QVC wants to take 2 steps forward, in the terms of attracting a younger demographic and being considered up to date-(in terms f social media etc)...., yet in reality they take 10 steps backwards in terms of sales techniques and the way they run their company....and thus experiencing failure on all angles.....
And all combined @Spurt, among the many, many reasons I no longer watch, though I was once a regular viewer. Oh well, I guess they don't miss me and I certainly don't miss them. I wonder if that was part of that amazing and 'successful' business plan we hear so much about?

Probably just poor phrasing. I'm thinking she was just trying to get the point across that anyone should feel comfortable using the Fat Max (I love mine). I don't think she meant to be condescending to females. She strikes me as a professional and I'm guessing as she reads these comments she's probably thinking "uh oh, that didn't come out right". With having two small "girls" at home that word is probably in frequent use in her vocabulary. Kind of like when I had small kids and we would be out to dinner with other couples and and I would say "if you'll excuse me I need to use the "potty" instead if restroom lol.

If I was that upset I'd change the channel

Dare I say: I'd rather have my DH do it all. Something very appealing (to me), watching someone else do all of the housework. .... As a side note, I've been thinking that (many/some) women are doing 'way too much' now-a-days. Time to designate chores to others, if/when possible.

Every female host who has presented such items has said the same thing (not in those exact words). I am very hesitant (as are most women) to use anything to do with vehicles even though I have taken classes on vehicle simple maintanance. It's not that I cannot do it - just I have been constantly told you have to be very careful as you could ruin the battery or get burned and I wasn't raised working on vehicles.! I know these type of products now are supposedly fail proof but would only use one if there was no one else around to help but possibly after using the product a couple of times I would be comfortable with it. So nothing wrong with what the host said!!!
Now in 2016 a real insult is calling females ladies which is a word that should have been retired long ago when women got equal rights and were no longer considered to be helpless and were to be quiet, prim and proper and subserviant to men!

I'm just so tired of everyone getting offended by words nowadays.

Since you have altered your QVC viewing habits you probably missed these new "exciting" and "brilliant" business plans......
1. On certain pricey items you can finance them with the Q Card that has a wonderful 26% interest rate....now the gimmick is if you pay the promotional purchase within the 9,12, or 18 month period....no interest will be charged on the promotional purchase balance....Now depending on the purchase amount, promotion length and payment allocations, the required minimum monthly payments may or may not pay off your purchase by the end of the promotional period....clever isn't it...
https://homeshoppingista.wordpress.com/2016/10/15/qvc-offers-special-deal-on-26-interest-card/
2. Perhaps you've heard the old classic song "I'll take Manhattan"..in a TCM movie or on a radio station that plays the old standards.........well that's QVC's strategy....yep, both magic Mike and Aunt Mandy and Amazon are looking to open brick & mortar stores in Manhattan on 34th Street........
Both multichannel home-shopping retailers have independently decided the teeming shopping area is ripe for a brick-and-mortar store to complement their TV shows and online retail.
"The goal is to have a store to bolster their TV and online sales...."

3. QVC plans to open an International Global Operations Center in Krakow, Poland in the next 2 years employing 200-300 people....
“The QVC-owned GBS organization is expected to help QVC maintain its competitive edge in a vastly changing, dynamic and competitive global retail marketplace by increasing operational efficiency and establishing world-class global business practices,” according to the press release.
“Starting in 2017, QVC will centralize critical processes and services in certain areas of the company’s finance, human resources (HR), information technology (IT), and legal functions for its operations in the U.S., UK, Germany, Italy and France at the Krakow GBS. The estimated annual savings are USD $11 to $12 million once the GBS is fully operational.”
“QVC is the world’s most powerful and engaging social shopping experience, reaching millions of people worldwide,” QVC CEO Mike George said in a canned statement. “As we look to expand and adapt to a dynamic retail landscape, this model will allow us to continue to modernize how we operate as a global entity.”
@stevieb But nowhere, nowhere in their "brilliant" plans do I see the that they will be offering more unique and diverse products and programming---something that actually might bring viewers back and bolster their TV and online sales..... go figure....

So I guess if no male of the species is available your flat out of luck and maybe even spending the night in your vehicle.....now that's something SCARY and something I wouldn't want to attempt!!! .
