Re: King size bed-sooo much work

I love our king bed!  We first had a regular double for many years, then went up one size to a queen, when we moved into our current home the master bedroom is large enough for a king size bed, so we bought one and are very happy with it.  BTW, 2 people in a double bed have less room than in a crib.  I don't know how we slept in one for so many years!

I love our King size bed, like many started out with a full, then graduated to a Queen and then when that needed replaced I told DH "we need a King size bed"!!!!  I love it!  It does take a little more time to make but it's worth it!!!

Yes. I got tired of fighting with the bedskirt, so I just got one of those elastic ones that don't go in between the box springs and mattress. Genius.

@wildlifewitch...Where did  you get yours?....I would love to have one like that but I always see reviews about them not staying on straight or pins are needed to keep them in place?...I want a really good quality one.

I have the original one now that goes over the entire boxspring...It is from Cuddledown and is wonderful quality and really lovely....However, it seems to have grown over time...lol... and now tends to drag...I've been thinking of taking it to the tailors and have them double over the material in the center about an inch or so and sew in place with a good secure sewing tape?

Cuddledown doesn't carry a detachable bedskirt and, in my search, I have seen all kinds with all various reviews.

Re: King size bed-sooo much work

I've stayed in quite a few hotels with king beds, and they drive me nuts. I like to be able to easily crawl/roll out on either side, and the bedding for my queen is manageable.  I may be 6' tall, but a king just overwhelms me.  Obviously, this won't be an issue.

Re: King size bed-sooo much work

My husband thought about a king-size bed. So on a vacation we tried one for a couple of weeks in a hotel. We hated it! Felt like we were miles apart from each other. Never again did we sleep so far apart. When we returned home, we purchased another queen bed!!

Re: King size bed-sooo much work

We just purchased a king size Saavta since we had a queen and I was not sleeping well at night because of crowding. I have to say I love the King size bed. Soo much more room to move around in. The one complaint I do have is that all of the King size quilts that I used on my Queen size bed, do not hang overr very far. I also purchased an adjustable Queen size bed for our spare bedroom. I love love the adjustable part of it. I sure wish they would oversize the King Quilts for longer overhang.

I think if you are married or have a significant other you are better off with a King size bed.  You can actually stretch out.  You really can't do that with a Queen.

I guess it depends on whether you sleep alone or with someone.  If with someone I need all the room I can get.

Re: King size bed-sooo much work

I have a Queen mattress and for years I was ordering King Sized blankets and sheets for my Queen mattress and topper because it was easier to get the fitted sheet on and the top sheet would tuck in better. Now they make Queen sheets larger and I order the right size sheets, but I still sometimes order King quilts or comforters because they cover more. Smiley Happy

Granted my husband and I are small people, but we have plenty of room with a queen. I agree with those who feel as though they're sleeping miles from their partners when in a king (what we have at home).
