Hi here, too, Snappy! Getting ready to shut down, as I explained on "hello" we'll be leaving early -- before sun up for DD's. I'm so excited, I'll likely not sleep a wink!! If DD has a safe, warm way prepared for Gracie to swim -- with herself -- and the dolphins... Well, let's just say, I'll be right in there with them! She'll have to wear ear plugs, though, so soon after this URI.

Awww, you are too kind, truly. I don't think you can realize what a very special soul you are! Like your support of the widows, while you, yourself are surely still grieving your dear husband's loss... That is the kind of unselfish spirit I'm talking about, in general. I have told you about a few of those precious souls on my route, and I'm sure you can "see", that though hubby and I raise much of the food here, I can and freeze and deliver it... It's my soul that is being most "fed" by those dear souls. It really is!! I thank the Lord for them daily... Yes, it keeps us real, too, and you just carry on, sweet sister! Do exactly as the Spirit guides you in those things that seem right and good to you. He will never lead you astray! As to the blessed hope you speak of, that is theirs for the asking, by their free will. One has to survive this life first, before considering the eternal one. Our job is to love regardless of everything else -- you're doing a great job of it!

I will be praying faithfully for the new widow, and please remember in your prayers a dear friend and fellow member here, Sweetpea. Pray for her strength because her husband is very ill and the first treatments haven't helped him... Moving on to Plan B. Know you understand and will pray this will bring him lasting health.

A happy, safe and blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours, and all our dear friends here! See you sometime after Sunday. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

G'evening, all. Watching this terrible news unfold live, and needing the peaceful distraction after much prayer for peace in our own nation.

BLUEGRASSBABY, Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! Your plans sound great, without the work. My kind of plans! I would sure join you, in joining JOY at the seashore, especially if it's warm. Yep, still snowing here. May have to settle for sautéing a few shrimp and watching an old beach flick. Lemon cake would make the perfect dessert!

GLORIAJEAN, hello! Yes, it's true. . . I'm not here much, as in as often, or reading/posting to many threads. Still working full time and also working toward my Ph.D in clinical psychology. Putting in a few hours per week with Wounded Warriors, helping out my parents. . . and trying to have a bit of a social life--including dating Mike exclusively now. Not always easy, but easy is not promised to any of us, is it? Sorry to read here your DH has been suffering vertigo. Sounds like he is being treated and I pray that goes well. Good that your SIL is successful with his beer-making! I enjoy an occasional stout (dark beer), or a good glass of wine. Btw, they use the stout in bread-making back home in Ireland. Maybe you two could team up and market your goods! Your and your daughter's dogs sound like a cute pair. Doggie daycare can be such a blessing, no? I was so proud when my Dexter passed his obedience training. Enjoy your Thanksgiving in good health!

SNAPPY, thanks--several patients did make it in today, but many had to cancel who live deeper into the suburbs, or counties. Glad we could be there for the few, most of which needed refills on their scripts, as well as their therapy sessions. I know your posts aren't being deleted--the server times out before you click Submit. Common problem for many here. . . Yes, AGNES did ask, but sadly, no, her homeowners policy will not pay for this waterproofing, and she learned flood ins in her area is priced right off the charts, too. Best she have this financed and taken care of immediately. The seepage has begun. . . I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too.

Have a wonderful, safe trip, JOY! Hope you, dd and Gracie do indeed get to swim with dolphins, or at least visit with them at the aquarium. I will send you a quick txt if I hear from SELAH. Thinking they have no signal, or they kept her. The surgeon's office being connected with the hospital there. I will pray for these ppl you mention here. Relax and enjoy your holiday!

I'm okay, DeLaney. Home, TG and awaiting the results. Probably won't hear until Monday. Did take us over 5 hrs to get home. Normally 2.5 hrs. Treacherous! Glad you're okay over there and prepared for tomorrow's feast! DD is doing the traditional turkey dinner and hubby is making his ham dip and other appetizers. Got my pineapple somehow, God love him! I have the pie crust dough in balls, in the fridge chilling. Ready to go for the pumpkin pies. Will make those this evening. My DIL is making 2 German Choc cakes! A fruit salad, too and some corn muffins. Wants to use her own kitchen. I understand, just hope no one slips bringing it in. I would like to make my grandmother's spiced coffee cake for snacking. DD said she may try to tonight after she preps for the stuffing. Doesn't want me in the kitchen "standing funny"---makes her back hurt to look at me. "Just go and heal", she tells me. Well, I nevah!!! {#emotions_dlg.sneaky} {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Went straight to the full length mirror and it seems I am standing funny when not making every effort not to. I think it is the pain from the other blown disk more than the surgery or implant itself. I will really need a lot of PT after this is done. Help to limber me up, as much as possible, considering the stenosis, too.

Absolutely praying for peace in our nation! Going to try to post this before continuing as a test. Hard typing, slow going. Stiff shoulders!

{{Selah}}, please do as your dd says! Go and relax. It is enough that we know you're home safely! I didn't want to bother Rowan, knowing this the last day of getting her students' art displayed at the museum. Thank you for checking in with us. Enjoy your Thanksgiving! Smile

Well lost that post ... I do hope Ms. Lerner enjoys it. Wink

Hi, DeLaney! It's okay. Just from kneading all the dough. Out of shape! {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Has anyone heard further from Lurky if the couple's loan went thru? May be held up due to the holiday.

Poor Agnes, sure hope she gets to go home for Christmas anyway. She has been planning that trip since the summer.

Hello, HiLo! Good to hear from you here, but I'll be happy too when we can email again. Have a great pic of my dad's mom I wanted to share with you. We were talking about facial features, hair textures and such of our relatives and ancestors. She is who I most resemble, while Rowan most resembles her own mother, who is also Cheyenne. One of my father's great aunts had the wavy hair like you---have a pic of her, too. So some of those distant cousins have the nice wavy hair. In my boredom, I've been looking thru the old albums. I will scan some pics in to my PC, so I can email them.

Like you, I have not been able to attend church much lately. Can't sit in the pews! Really miss it, so hubby asked if he can bring my own chair from home for this Sunday and sit in the back. Just a cushioned dining room chair with a tall back, They said it would be fine and they offered a wheelchair to get me in from the car. Don't think I'll need that. Will be careful not to fall. My dad still refuses to use credit cards! Or the internet, among many other things. He will look at pics of family we show him on our cell phones and that is about it. Hope you're feeling stronger as each day passes!

God bless you, too, DoubleJ and a happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Hello, Snappy! Yes, I feel so sorry for you with the balmy temps. {#emotions_dlg.devil2} I love your wit, too. You either make me laugh or move my spirit---and you always leave me smiling. Thank you, my friend.

Yes, more of the same for me. This is why they call me "Silicone Selah" now ... They are replacing a couple of blown disks in my back with little gel-filled silicone pillows. Kind of like miniature breast implants, but with no seks appeal. Then, if my body doesn't reject those [doesn't seem to be] and when I heal from the second surgery, I will begin PT for the spinal stenosis. Enjoy your Thanksgiving with the family!

Nice to meet you, too, gloriajean! I recall praying with you that your sister's daughter would contact her. Hoping she has and all is well now with them. Your celebration plans sound perfect. Hope the weather will be nice for your upcoming trip. I'm pretty sure that's even further than the miles separating Rowan and I. Good health to your hubby, in Jesus name.

Enjoy yourself at CB, Bluegrassbaby! Have stopped at many of those when traveling over the years. Wish we had one near by! You are in S.C. and Rowan and I spent much of our childhoods - thru early adulthood in N.C. Love both Carolinas and plan to retire in that region, some day soon I hope. Get out of this Arctic Zone. Would love to live on the Outer Banks! Take care and God bless you.

LOL @ Joy! Oh, yeah, you gotta watch out for those wild turkeys. Not much gets past them! They have their ways ...

 photo imagejpg1_zps59d218ba.jpg

TY for the prayers, sweetheart. They are working! I prayed you and yours made it safely to your dd's and are now relaxing in the good salt air. Enjoy that mega-buffet tomorrow, then swim it off with the dolphins! Something tells me Gracie had some help with this latest scheme. Wink

Happy Beachy Thanksgiving!

WaJa, praying for safety as you travel. So happy you are able to go as I know you miss you family a whole lot. Don't know what the wild turkeys will get into while you are away. Maybe they will set free all the animals on your property. I know what you mean about receiving a blessing when you share with others. This city girl has never even seen anyone can or preserve, but I gather it more or less goes with the territory when one has a farm. You are correct about the free will, but I feel restricted as to how much I can share with others who have yet to exercise theirs in a positive way. Still, I try to just be myself and pray and know that in the RW each of them has opportunities to meet those who can speak the truth with them. Thank you for the encouragement to keep on keeping on. DD and I have been making the pumpkin pies today. Waiting for the hot mixture to cool so we can whip the egg whites and sugar and fold them in. Then pile it in the pie shells, refrigerate, and we are done!! Looking forward to hearing about your trip upon your return.

DeLaney, I knew you are studying, but don't think I realized it's for your PhD. Wow..must be difficult, but it also lets me know more than before, just how smart you are...{#emotions_dlg.thumbup} Glad some of your patients were able to make it in for their meds and sessions. Thanks for the info about Agnes. It is vital that she get that basement waterproofed. Wish I knew how to help her financially, because I would. Can pray that those in her RL will step up to help her. Want her to make that trip she has planned for so long. So, are you telling me that if I write shorter posts, they will go through? That there is a time limit? Sometimes I get called away while posting and then go back later. Other times, my natural verbosity carries me away. Why use one word when 10 will do? Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving whatever you eat. It's all good.

Selah, grateful you are home safely. That trip must have been hard on the back. SO many hours. I'm salivating at the sound of the wonderful food your DD and hubby have planned. This time next year, they will no doubt let you do the work, so this is your chance to kick back and enjoy. Thank you for the explanation about your back procedures. Sounds awful, but if successful, maybe you will experience MUCH less pain, or none? PT is time consuming, but can really help, and we just pray it does that for you when the time is right. Happy Thanksgiving to you. Take care and rest.

Blessings on all our dear ones here.

Good Thanksgiving Eve, good friends! Worked a few hours in the gift shop yesterday, so did not make it here. Heard no news anyway from the realtor, until a couple of hours ago. YES! Doing that happy dance like Joy's emoticon. The young couple, expecting their first child around Christmas has been approved! Everything has been signed- tomes of paperwork. They will move into my old home this weekend. I hear they already have most of their furnishings, will only need to buy a larger dining set, and that carpet, of course. So happy for them, so relieved for me. Thanking the good Lord, and all of your prayers for both!

Baked my pies in the big community kitchen with a couple of neighbors who live here. What a time we had- what a mess we made! {#emotions_dlg.w00t} Took twice as long to clean up after ourselves than all our baking combined. One gave me a dozen of her butter cookies to take with me- never a bad thing, cookies! Now here I sit, with my bags packed, watching it snow and waiting for my brother to pick me up. He had business in town today, so at least he is already here somewhere. I will stay just this one night, and ride back with my great niece and her boyfriend tomorrow evening.

HiLo, loved reading about your dear daughter and son-in-law's work in the Lord! That kind of simple faith is just what He asked of us. Trust in Him, rest in Him, wait on Him, depend on Him and in all things, give thanks. That can get lost sometimes since this life can become so complicated, but for the next.. He has accomplished everything on our behalf and none can possibly fail unless they choose to. Bless them in their good works and bless you! Are you feeling much better? Up to enjoying Thanksgiving? I hope so, but the main thing is to do as you must to fully recover. Oh, sure we'll continue on with our emailing when you can. No worries! No one could ever forget you, dear heart. Praying things are going well with both your grandson and granddaughter.

Hello to DoubleJ and welcome to this new home. I agree it's a very good name! Glad you caught up to HiLo here and pleased to have you join in any time you like. A blessed Thanksgiving to you!

Very nice to meet you, too, gloriajean and to learn of your lovely family. When time permits maybe you will share with us your recipes for healthy bread. I love bread and have to cut back on that, and sweets myself. Had to lose weight for my BP and to ease some of the pain in my joints. Enjoy that grilled turkey and I'll pray for your husband's health.

Snappy, I read your post here and went there and saw this new widow and have prayed for her and Joy's friend, Sweetpea and her dear husband, too. I don't know where she is to offer her some comfort and I'm no widow so don't dare intrude there, but prayers sent, dear and God bless you for all you lend to the widows and everyone else. Joy is right about you, after all! I'm sorry to hear your friend suffers with RA, too.. It's life-changing, but I know you suffer with various maladies, too. Most do, or will, if blessed with long years. I'm sure you are a comfort to her and she to you. Friends are invaluable! I love mine as family, and of course we ALL are family.

DeLaney, be safe on those roads! I have not quite finished all my shopping yet, but it's just a few small gifts now. You will happen upon that perfect gift for Mike- when you least expect it. So glad he was able to check out things at your house. I wonder when it will be safe for you and Dexter to go home. Some winter we are having this fall! Love you so.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner out, Bluegrassbaby! Sounds like a fine time to me, and that cake sounds even better. Lemon is just so refreshing, any time of the year! I know your neighbor felt blessed with your thoughtful gift.

Joy, bless you and yours! I hope the trip went well and you're well out of this snow. I'll be thinking of you, dd and Gracie swimming with dolphins and be sure to use powerful mints so they can't smell the seafood on your breath! They are FAR more intelligent creatures than even wild turkeys. Much love always!

Thank the Lord you and DH made it home safely, Selah. I have to admit I was becoming worried. I'm so sorry about the pain. Praying this will soon be behind you. Your dd only wants the best for you- she is sensitive to mom's suffering, bless her. Don't overdo- just sit, or lay back and enjoy those grandbabies! I can't wait to see the latest pictures. I will try to get one or two of Smokey to share.

Bless you all! Safe travels to you and/or your families, and may The Lord comfort all who will be alone for the holiday.

Lurky, about to shut down for the day, but saw your post. Doing the happy dance with you! So happy for you and the young couple who can now move in. There is so much paper work when selling these days. I was shocked. What a blessing for all of you and a relief. Glad they can be in before Christmas.

Nice that you can bake there with others. DD and I are making the pumpkin pies together today. Almost finished actually.

Thank you for reading on the Widow's thread. You can pray as you feel led and help them more than any of us will know. I'm hoping you have a wonderful time with you family and that Smokey makes nice with you. Maybe he will ask you to take him "home"??

I need to sign off. Been here too long, but had one long post vanish so it's frustrating to have to try to reconstruct it. Happy Thanksgiving to you, dear friend. Take care out there, stay on your feet. Glad your loved ones are coming for you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

That is fantastic news, Lurky! Made my night complete. I know it must have been weighing on your mind, though you never complained and kept on believing! I am thrilled for you and this precious couple. May all their years in their new home together be blessed. Great that you have access to the nice community kitchen, too! I know how much you miss cooking at the school among friends - your old co-workers. Another window our loving God opened for you.

Well, friends all goes fine here despite the "peaceful protestors" tying up traffic on the interstate along my commute home. Nan and I, with a little help from my daughter have all the bases covered that can be before tomorrow. Sounds as though you all do, too! Just wanted to stop by and wish you all a most blessed Thanksgiving. Counting you each among my blessings for which I'm very thankful!

A special hello to HiLo! Hope you're feeling so much better now.

Hello, ladies - familiars and new friends, too! Have fallen behind because as some know, there has been problems with moisture seeping into my basement. Had to find a good, reliable water-proofing specialist to take care of this. Did find one that is fully warranted. Quite extensive, what they must do. Will take them 3 days next week. Didn't like to, but my only option is to leave the exterior basement key with the contractor. I bought a bolt-lock and installed that on the door upstairs, leading to the main house. I can't possibly miss 3 days from work, to let them in and out. They do offer financing, but I went to my credit union and got a much better deal there. Thankful for that, and all of your prayers and advice. Just one of those things that go along with being a homeowner, huh? I know if I explained to my parents, they would gladly pay our way out to there to Denver for Christmas. Don't really want to do that, or deprive Jacob of seeing them and his father either. I'll wait and see. The airlines are offering some great deals, you know and I'm scouting those out. My migraines are still with me, but I do believe it is hormonal (peri-menopause). Will have that panel done soon, and see then what the dr recommends. Thanking Snappy for the info she shared with me on HRT! That is so good to know, since every word about it is usually negative.

Anu, our interstates and main streets have been blocked, too. Much boycotting of Black Friday tomorrow lined up. I only shop online that day anyway, but still... Protestors rights should end, where other innocent citizens' begin. We were 40 minutes late getting Jacob to his therapist yesterday. He of course had left the office by then. Had no session for the week.

You hang in there, Selah! You are halfway there with the surgeries, then the PT is going to help so much! Praying for you daily.

HiLo, bless you! I've missed our chats so much and was very upset to learn you were so ill. Think of you every time I watch David Jeremiah. Hope you've been able to follow along with his broadcasts. We can discuss them later, when you feel up to it and have your email working. Jacob and I are still attending the same church. Enjoying it much! He is even participating in play dates now, with other children he's met there. Will fill you in more later. I'm taking him to a French restaurant today - we're having duck! We've been practicing how to order in French - I'm going to let him do that, if he wants to. He'll probably pull it off better than me anyway! Hope you are surrounded by family and friends there, enjoying this day in much better health. Love you!

To all our friends here!
