Hello Ladies,

I am so glad that you all have found a new home. As another poster said, it's a good name.

HiLo, so glad to hear that you are feeling better. Prayers continue for a full recovery.

Take care, stay safe, and may God bless each and everyone of you, in a way that only He can.

It will come as no surprise to anyone that my post vanished again. Bah humbug.

gloriajean, our whole family plus my SILs will be getting together at DD and SILs place on Thanksgiving. How about you?

Selah, you win bragging rights for COLD, NASTY weather...I cry uncle! It's 80 and sunny here today. Don't you feel sorry for us? I'm grateful your DD is doing the work on Thursday and that you are well enough to be off the pain meds during the day. Praying the doc knows what to do about timing for the next surgery. Is it more of the same? I really don't know. Didn't know that you had an artificial disk implanted, but pray you don't reject it. I really did think all of you are in daily contact with deep discussions, and knew there was no way I could keep up with that. My pee brain doesn't function the way it once did. Thank you for praying for a buyer for my SILs unit. Someone looked at it yesterday, but DD didn't mention it in her email. Because it's essentially empty, it's a great place to have a meal. Take care of yourself. BTW, I love your "nonsense". {#emotions_dlg.sneaky}

So nice to see all of you - and Hilo, glad you are recovering. You really must have been very ill from what I read. Sorry to hear that. Rowan - it is a good thing the Q leaves the Prayer Thread here - I didn't know at first if it would be used, but glad it is..Guess as long as it's not on Viewpoints.

Hi Snappy! What thread vanished that you had to have a new one? I'm just a little confused, but that's okay - I'm glad you have this one now.

I don't have a large family - it's just us, and my two daughters and son-in-law. My married daughter lives in Texas and we are planning on driving there for Christmas! With two dogs! Thanksgiving will be here - my husband is making a turkey on the grill, Lori, my daughter who lives only five miles from us is bring food too! LurkyLoo - I enjoy baking my health breads, I don't bake much of the sugar stuff anymore - being my husband has to watch his sugar. But we did make some wine - blueberry/apple. Got a wine making kit for our 50th Wedding Anniversary in August. Next I have some cranberry to try, with our apples I froze. Nice to meet you, LurkyLoo, Selah too.

Juanita - good to see you!

It feels nice to be so welcomed. God bless you all!

Yeah...Lurky, I'm so sorry you have to deal with RA, but glad you are in a place where daily living is easier. One of my friends has just been diagnosed with it. She has had so much pain. The exercises they gave her help a lot. Will you be going out for Thanksgiving, or eating there?

HiLo, wonderful to see you. Hope your DS will be able to fix your email situation so you can be in touch as you want to be. I think it's a miracle that your SIL has so many open doors there in Louisiana.

DD and I didn't get to church yesterday, but we did the 2 Sundays before that. I find walking in to any place alone hard. I need to hold someone's hand to feel my sense of "place" as I walk.

Thank you for thinking about my sis and her son. She just sold her mobile home and made an offer on a house. She is hoping her buyers don't back out because she needs the money to put down on the new place. As far as I know, her son is okay. He has hearing aids now and they have helped him a lot. She has wanted a place of her own out of the mobile home park. She will be 74 in a couple of weeks, and is still working full time, so I am concerned about her taking on this debt, but she thinks it will work out, and I have to just let it go.

Oh I remember the MANY years of living paycheck to paycheck. But the Lord was always faithful, and we never missed a payment on anything. Credit cards. The first one I recall was for Sears. Revolving credit is what they called it. The big ones like VISA and Master Card weren't even around as far as I know. Having debt was sort of shameful, except for mortgages, and being debt free was looked upon as a virtue. Times were simpler and the so called "social" issues were really moral issues, and most people knew right from wrong. But, the young people today no doubt think they are living in the best time.

I hope you continue to feel better and have a nice Thanksgiving. What will you be doing that day? If you already told us, please forgive me for asking.

DoubleJ, it's good to meet you and I hope you stop by so we can get acquainted.

gloriajean, sorry I didn't make myself clear. I had posted answers to everyone here, but when I hit submit, it vanished. That happens to me often and then I have to try to remember what I wrote and do it again, and there isn't always time for that. Anyway, I hope you are well. Thank you for telling us a bit about your family. It's nice that one of your girls lives close to you. Take care.

A good Tuesday morning, all! Have made it to the office, so have a cell signal and my kinda coffee--woot! The snow along the sides of the roads is stacked up taller than the vehicles. Feels like driving through a white canyon. Where will the plows put more? Praying any patients who brave it, make it in safely once we open.

SILICONE SELAH, it wasn't me this time--honest! Proof being it's still snowing, sometimes mixed with freezing rain here. AND they now say, it will continue through MONDAY. I think we can both thank Oh, Canada! Speaking of. . . Did you make it there and back again? How did it go? Good, I pray! I did get us a turkey and the other items from Mom's list--and the ingredients to make the pecan crunchies (ha-ha, Lurky--you have scored Tom + Kit, but I can eat myself fat now)! What is your DD serving up? When you are able, I know you'll share the frizzy-haired pics of the Princess ROWAN with us! After the frightening one of your ingrown toenail, it's only fair!

HILO, will your daughter and son-in-law be making the trip up for Thanksgiving? Will you be dining in or out? Either way; have a good one! So happy to have you feeling better and back in touch. I bet the problem with your email is their server again. Yahoo has been awful lately, too. One of the reasons we moved the ongoing topic discussions away from email, to the other forums on Delphi. Did not yet start one of our own--just joined in with others already there. There is just the brief personal emails and occasional breaking news one. You haven't missed anything, but please pray for Agnes. She is having some minor (she thinks) health issues--and her basement needs waterproofing. Will likely be quite expensive. She may have to cancel her Christmas trip home to Denver, due to this. {#emotions_dlg.sad} Continue to relax and get well soon! Love you, M.O.M.!

LURKY, thanks, but Mike has a couple of nice watches. . . Still pondering. Still overthinking it. Have you finished your shopping? I have, but for him. Good luck with your pies. Not that you'll need it. Praying the couples' mortgage goes thru!

SNAPPY, I see the IRS is still tagging your posts for deletion! Wink Lois Lerner never takes a break. So sorry you keep losing them here, but I would, too, if I didn't c/p the longer ones. The boards are set up for quick, brief posts--not blogging. Is it our fault we like to gab a lot? Still staying with my parents, but Mike made it over from his house to mine on his tractor with the plow. Had to dig his way in, then lit the fireplace in addition to spiking the central heat. Said everything seems okay there. The pipes didn't freeze, thanks to the heat strips kicking on. I will see you on "hello" later--will have to divide my time here, as I can. Enjoy your family Thanksgiving!

GLORIAJEAN, wow--wine making! That is quite the feat. You may even have Martha (Stewart, as we lovingly compare JOY to) beat! My (deceased) brother used to enjoy micro-brewing beer in the basement. We lived in constant fear he would blow up the house! {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Your Thanksgiving plans sound nice to me--larger crowds can be tiring, imo. Hope the weather will be nice for your Christmas trip to TX. That's a looong drive, and with your dogs, too! What kind(s) of dogs do you have? I have the one, young golden retriever, Dexter--he's at my folks' house right now--trying to rule the roost--Doggie daycare being closed due to snow. Take care!

About to open up here now and I do see one patient pulling in. Wishing you each a great, safe day!

Hello everyone here!

Delaney - haven't posted to you in a long time! Good to see you! We just got the wine making kit for our 50th Anniversary last August, so just beginning - my husband bought our son-in-law a beer making kit a couple years ago for Christmas and he's busy making good beer all the time. He loves doing it!! My dog is the Pom, white, really cute and 10 years old already, Lori's dog is the rat terrier with long legs, white and black. She got him from the Humane Society 3 years ago. Lots of times we have to do doggie day care.

DeLaney, glad you were able to make it to work and that one of your patients, at least, made it through the weather. Glad Mike found your place in good condition and is looking out for your interests. My posts aren't being deleted, but when I hit submit, nothing happens. I know I could cut and paste, but don't get it, and don't care...that's the real truth.

Thank you for the update on Agnes. Sorry about her health issues and that she might not be able to afford to go to CO as planned. I know people say insurance won't cover this, but why not? Has she asked? I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Bluegrassbaby, hubby and I used to eat at the Cracker Barrel years ago. Do they still serve that wonderful sourdough bread? My mouth is watering over the lemon cake. YUMMY.

gloriajean, happy Thanksgiving to you.

Hello, friends and blessings to you all today, and always! Waiting for the snow to start flying here, too. Trying to determine if we're still heading down to DD's in the morning... or staying home to celebrate Thanksgiving. Will miss her and her DH if Old Man Winter wrecks our plans, but better safe than sorry and DH has some hams, fish and one turkey smoking in the smokehouse, so we'll be giving thanks either way.

Dear Snappy, it's so easy to be kind to someone always so delightful and full of grace as you! If only the world were full of Snappys, then few would be tested by bitterness. (There will always be the few, regardless... poor souls.) Yes, I am still working for the same boss who owns that small resort and marina. I maintain and upgrade the website there, as well as see to the payroll (and taxes) for him. That is my only "job" now, and this is the off-season, so slower going. I usually only do my volunteer work for the church on Fridays -- delivering goods to those in need. Unless I'm called to assist with problems on the church's website. If I can stay caught up here, on these slower moving threads. Hit one or two every few days. I do not read most of the other threads here at all any longer. Just a few friendly ones. Don't bother posting my POV all over the Delphi forums much either, as I explained on "hello". Just visit and lend support and prayer where I can. Do enjoy the theological discussions, though. I fall behind with all social media (including email) during mostly Spring planting and Fall harvest times. THEN, it is hard to get caught up again, especially on long threads. Thankfully most of our family members and personal friends keep in touch by phone and brief txts on a regular basis. Some of us here on this thread prefer those time-saving methods, too. FaceTime is like Skype for those with iPhones or the app and for those who have the service, it's as easy as speed-dialing on your phone and there you are -- face to face chatting for a bit! Fun once in a while, as time permits. But no, it's not possible for any of us daily, or even weekly, most of the time. I'm not that good at juggling, trust me!! I bet the gold tones of the dark blonde tint is beautiful at brightening up your skin. May try that on my ginger locks when they fade. They are getting more and more company from silver strays. Left you a message on "hello" -- we can't forget about dear cute, but I hope she knows she is welcome to read along and/ or post here, too, if she likes.

Selah, you are very welcome! There wasn't much of that "cake" to eat, I'm afraid... That turkey breast cooked up so small, we had to subsidize with pizza! There was a flock of wild turkeys pecking around the duck pond. I think they caught a whiff of my turkey-breast dinner cooking and jinxed it! Wild Turkeys are especially tricksy, you know. Remember that song by Lacy J. Dalton? {#emotions_dlg.devil2} Praying while awaiting word from you on the test results.

Dear Lurky, wrote you on "hello", too. Enjoy the new outfit!!

Dear HiLo, what a blessing your Donna and her husband are to you -- and so many! May the Lord continue to bless his ministry. Their Christian attitude is definitely the most healthy, mortally and spiritually. I strive for the same, as a work in progress in Christ. As DeLaney has better explained, I meant to convey to you that the ongoing group discussions have ended by email. Everyone with time for those are posting to forums elsewhere, since most topics are not allowed here. We can discuss whatever issues you are comfortable with, though, in the private, one-on-one emails. Hope your son can work his techy charms for you soon!

Hello, DoubleJ! Yes, here we are at our new home -- those of us from the old 70+ thread which fell away due to inactivity while HiLo was sick and we strayed to post mostly elsewhere. Just as well, since I believe only one of us (Lurky) there were actually in their 70s anyway. {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Wonderful to see you here, or anywhere! Do drop by for a visit when you can. Understanding about your bandwidth problems. May you and yours have a most blessed Thanksgiving!!

Gloria, of course you are most welcome here -- hope you know that! Yes, thankfully the prayer thread seems safe here in AF. I think the mods must fear a holy war would break out on VPs. This is a nice place for it, and may it bring many comfort. I'm praying for all there and on your daily thread, including your Linus, of course, even when I don't have time to post -- the Lord hears us! Hoping the PT is all Linus needs to resolve that troubling vertigo. I don't think he'd be too happy if he had to retire entirely. He seems to love his job at the appliance store. Bless him. Grilled turkey is delicious and will go so well with a glass of that homemade wine! My grandmother used to make watermelon rind and muscadine wine -- don't ask me how! But it sure was good. Your cranberry-apple sounds great, too. We love freshly baked bread here, but I don't make it often. Will make my yeast rolls for Christmas. Safe travels to TX -- hoping little Sammy and Ollie behave themselves on the long journey. Lots of pit stops, I would think!

BGB, bless you! You have restored my hope in our trip!! Thanks for the weather update down your way. Yes, it's very near to Myrtle Beach where DD and her DH live and Captain George's is exactly where we're going!! I know they will have turkey and all the rest there, too... But since we usually only enjoy fresh-water fish here, the seafood will be a special treat. As I told you on the Lucky thread, I just love CB, too -- down home food, and the adorable gift shop. I know you will enjoy that, you and hubby, but I'm so sorry your son will be away with his gf. My youngest son will have to have a second Thanksgiving with his fiancée's family next weekend. They live down in Williamsburg... Makes it hard dividing up the holidays. When everyone lives in driving range, they can gather all at once. Such is life, huh? That lemon cake sounds fantastic. In fact I just found a new recipe on my church's site for Lemon-Coconut cake. Going to try to make that one for Christmas! You can feel free to share any recipes you like here, too. Many of these ladies love to cook, including me! How good of you to make the extra cake for your neighbors. Praying for her hubby's health, and God bless you and yours, too!

A most blessed Thanksgiving to all!

WaJa, my post disappeared again. Sorry. Am praying the Lord will show you what to do about travel plans. Am sure you want to be with your loved ones, but then there's the safety issue.

It's in the 70s here today. Got the tile floors washed and towels. DD#2 is working at school this afternoon. Lots of copying to do for the month of December. The machine has so much demand that it's hard to do when school is open.

You are much to kind to this poor sinner, but I do appreciate the encouragement and it matters to me. Thank you.

Glad you are still working for the marina and that your load there is lighter right now. Makes sense. You do so much to help the needy in your area and I know they are blessed, especially those who are shut in or elderly.

Gracie probably thinks the temperature in SC is always the way it was this summer. Wouldn't it be something if she is able to swim with the dolphins someday? How would grandma feel about that? Glad she feels better. Kids are amazing.

I've never looked at Delphi, and probably won't. It's enough for me to be here. I am sorry for the new widow. Posting there gives me a sort of purpose. You know, I have hope. Not everyone does. And I think that losing a loved one with no warning would be harder than if they had suffered for a long time. But loss is hard. We sorrow not as those who have no hope, is what the Word says. But we do sorrow. Thank you for praying for the new lady. She's just in the first stages of grief and had no warning.

Am praying this will post, as I must do other things now. You are a dear friend and a wonderful servant of the Lord, and I'm blessed to know you.
