Kindle from amazon

has anyone purchased a Kindle from amazon.com?

There is one for $69 and another for $119 paperwhite

I just want one for reading but I don't know which is better

Do you have to hook it up to your router?

is the print adjustable; if not is it easy to read?

do I have to purchase a case for it; which is like $59

I know I probably have to purchase the charger to go with it.
