There is already a shortage of police officers in many places. They are retiring early or simply changing careers. Fewer and fewer people want to go into law enforcement. I can't really blame them.

@Greeneyedlady, don't bother with those who have been conned into disbelieving the truth before their own eyes. It's sad and is ruining whatever polite society we had left. Blaming black victims and holding up white male shooters who kill blacks or blm as heroes is a sickening and degenerate act. But here we are. I try not to think too hard about it.
Let these people revel in their hatred because that's exactly what it is. They lose in the end.

According to Potter herself, that is not why he was shot either. He was shot because she made a fatal mistake.

She is 49 years old. If this judge gives her 25 years in prison, she very well could never return to her family. The prosecutor is going for "enhanced" sentencing so they want the max..and this judge seems to want that also. Upon appeal, they will be looking at the first degree charge. Almost every attorney I have seen or heard comment on it thinks her actions did not meet the criteria for 1st degree manslaughter, just second degree, of which she was also found guilty. I expect she will get the max, since she was a police officer, the court is making an example of her.

Texas News Today: Daunte Wright victims tell of his violent past

Among Daunte Wright's victims is Caleb Livingston (pictured with his mother Jennifer LeMay) who was left permanently disabled after being shot in the head by Wright in 2019. LeMay said her son requires 24/7/365 care and can no longer do anything on his own.

Daunte Wright shot Caleb in the frontal part of his head, with a bullet ripping through to the other side of his skull, where it is still lodged. 

‘Daunte shot my son and left him to die,’ his mother said. ‘During his hospital stay Caleb almost died six times because of his injuries.’

She said the two boys were good friends at one point and that Caleb had had his first sleepover at Wright’s house when he was 13..
