You might check out the Mini Cooper, which is just about the same size and slightly cuter (imo) than the Kia Soul.

Minis don't have good service records, and they are very expensive.

I've been driving my Kia Soul for five years and I love it! I've never had any service issues with it at all. I do regular mainenance like oil changes, and that's it. It has a fabulous warranty and is absolutely reliable. I'd by another one in a heartbeat.
