Re: Kentucky couple adopts baby surrendered at fire station

@San Antonio Gal Our state's 1st Safe Haven Baby Box was installed at a local fire station a couple of weeks ago and it's already been used.  I was surprised that they installed it here since the town I live in is not nearly as populous as the neighboring city and is more like a bedroom community.

@San Antonio Gal - Hard to believe that it took 2 years for this precious little one to be adopted!  So happy for him that he will not have a loving family.

@WORKING GAL  It takes a long time to be approved as adoptive parents. Lots of visits to the home, financial stipulations, background checks, etc.

So happy they found each other. Surrendering a newborn baby to a firestation anonymously is not new;  hundreds of babies have been saved and adopted this way; i have a friend who has fostered and adopted three babies this way and they are now in junior high and high school. It is so wonderful this program is available.

Two years is not that unusual. They were able to foster the baby, while the legal procedures were completed.

Awwwe, how sweet!  And the baby looks so happy.  There's a couple on YouTube called The Schoeller Family who began by fostering this little girl named Tyanna at 11 months old.  They decided to turn the fostering to an adoption.  Not only has the little girl flourished but the couple left it an an open adoption and Tyanna, now five, has met her birth mother and all is well.  This little girl has traveled all over the world and the videos are so interesting.  Jon, the adoptive father is an investor and says that this child has enough money invested by them to not have to work when she becomes an adult if she doesn't want to.  They live a frugal lifestyle.  And I'm ranting, lol cause I love them so much.
