Re: Kensington Palace Issues Social Media Guidelines

This is quite different because this is a country, not FB or a tv shopping channel. They say that posts that merely criticize the monarchy will not be censored.  That remains to be seen.

Good for them!  They have every right to establish guidelines for the social media formats they run.  If people want to make unkind comments or comment in a way that doesn't meet their guidelines, there are multiple other sources the citizens can use.

The monarchy should have been abolished years ago ... even when Queen Victoria ruled, she was not in Kensington Palace for 40 years~!   Many say it is good for the economy ... all of the 20 palaces / residences could be used for "tours" ... that would render more revenue than having the royals continue this charade of sovereign rule.

PS, If Americans had not stepped in the 1940's they would be speaking German by now in their media outlets.

Re: Kensington Palace Issues Social Media Guidelines

This was necessary because of blatantly racist comments directed at Meghan. Including use of racial slurs and emojis of guns and knives.

Anyone who thinks that's censorship and control of "information", well I dont even know what to say about that. Actually I do but I'm sure I can't say it here.

I didn't know about the threat or racist remarks about Megan. I certainly do not approve of this in any way.Yes, Harry has to protect her.

Re: Kensington Palace Issues Social Media Guidelines

I believe every social media outlet (maybe not Reddit) has

‘Guidelines’ like those mentioned with the Royals.  It’s nothing new.

To my knowledge, users can not delete statements on some platforms,

like Twitter & Instagram. Just have to take the good with the bad.

Now if the comments could be charged in a court of law, yes they

should be removed & prosecuted.  Other than that, saying someone

has ugly this/that, that’s just part of the social media world.

The Queen just submitted her first Instagram post...hence all the

Royal social media chowchow.
