And maybe Kate is the way she is because of her parents? I watched the show Tuesday and Kate said that when she was young, she had pet rabbits that her dad then used to kill and she had to eat them. Who would do that to their child?

Yeah, that was terrible. I can't even imagine...

Oh, then, you'd be really shocked at the stuff that goes on in some households. I was forced (I mean physically forced) to watch them cut the heads off of chickens. I was so far beyond horrified and still, to this day, thinking about it makes me cry.

When parents do stuff like that to children, with innocent animals, it's no wonder that some of us like animals more than humans.

ETA: Just to clarify - the chickens were alive at the time of the cutting.

I am so sorry those horrific things happened to you,......childhoods are supposed to be spent with parents who love , protect and provide for you, every child deserves that, it is sad that many don't .

Thanks, Jan! Smiley Happy I'm sure we all have our challenges and I'm not here to say 'poor poor me' but I guess the point is that the range of stuff that happens to people when they are little kids is HUGE and I'm just glad that some people didn't have to experience the things some did.

As for Kate - she always has impressed me as somebody who had some pretty weird things happen in her childhood so I guess I'm not surprised to hear that. Smiley Sad

The one girl - I guess it's Maddy? I'd forgotten which but it was one of the twins - I watched the show some when they were all little and that one twin was always kind of on the bad side. I always wondered if maybe, in private, she was the one upon whom Kate manifested her damage. (can relate) I hope not and I hope these kids have a fighting chance.

I don't blame Kate's parents for how she came out. We all know perfectly normal people who have kids with major problems. It doesn't seem like there are too many people Kate can get along with.

Kate doesn't speak to her brother any longer. She doesn't speak with her parents either. She wiped all family out of her life.

I always remember her saying she had a terrible childhood. Maybe I'm wrong though. She has spoken about how poor her family was. I thought her father was a pastor.

What's sad is those kids don't have any relationships with either Kate or Jon's family.

I have never had the feeling that you were having a pity party, you have shared before, and I always felt like you were just sharing facts about your childhood,......if people have never had theses types of abuse, they don't really have a clue....sometimes people don't realize how damaging emotional, verbal abuse really is....as far as Mady , I am really not sure, some people are born with a easy going temperament, some are more diffcult.

Why would the kids read Viewpoints?

There are much worse things said about them on the internet from other sites. There are blogs devoted to bad mouthing their parents. Plus, there's all the comments that has surrounded the Gosselins from the beginning of the show when Kate turned down the van because it wasn't white and the cribs that didn't match.

bri.....it's not just on viewpoints but on the internet when they google their name too. Granted it might require going to the next google page or two to see all the comments but they're there. Whenever we make any comment in Viewpoints it's on the internet available via any search engine.

I know that, found.

And the blame lies with Kate and Jon for putting their kids on TV. I can't imagine what they're going to find when they start looking on the internet. Kate and Jon have much to be ashamed about.
