Just wanted plain old Chocolate Chip, but nooooo...

Today was not the greatest of days. This week has not been the greatest of weeks.

So I stopped at the grocery store on the way home. I wanted ice cream and was not going to be denied. Specifically I wanted Mayfield Double Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. Sold out. So then I proceeded to check for Chocolate Chip made by anyone. I really didn't care who made it at that point.

I didn't care about fat grams or calories or trans fats of whatever. I wanted Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. I found every other flavor known to man- all too contrived for me. Caramel Kernal Crunch- what the heck is that????

Finally, finally.... after about a 4 minute search, there was the object of my desire. Publix (store brand). I grabbed the carton and clutched it to my chest as someone would a life preserver if they'd been washed overboard.

I can't believe all the flavors out there, by every maker. All fully stocked. But the Mayfield Double Chocolate Chip was sold out because it's good and people want the old stand bys.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
