Opposite sides for us...or right angle, as someone else  said. Never on the same side when it's just us.

In a booth, we sit opposite each other.

Always sit across - I have a hula hoop rule - stay out of my space which is roughly the size of a hula hoop.  I am not one of those overly touchy feely people that feels the need to be close to/attached to someone.

Re: Just Wondering

Depends on the situation. My husband and I are together alot so we don't need to sit across from each other to see each other. Sometimes when we sit across from each other, one has a wide view of the environment and the other just a wall. I like sitting next to each just so we see the same thing. If I am with someone I don't see very often, we sit across from each other to see each other.

We sit opposite each other or at right angle so we can look at each other while we talk.   We still like to look into each other's eyes after 25+ years together.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

@Mom2Dogs I don't like people invading my personal space like Aaron the "close talker" from Seinfeld! I also like to face the door like I'm a criminal or something so I can make a quick exit ( I'm kidding of course)!
