Just Saw An Ad On Food Network for QVC and Issac

This stuck me as odd, I thought I was watching the Food Network and then I saw Isaac's face on the screen. I went to check the channel I was on. Sure enough he or the Q are now advertising on Food Network. It just surprised me, that's all.

Re: Just Saw An Ad On Food Network for QVC and Issac

Actually they are "promo trade" spots that run on cable networks locally.

Cable companies, like Time Warner and Comcast have carriage agreements with the shopping networks. As part of their deals, the cable companies get a commission on sales. They, in turn, have to promote the shopping channels. The more shoppers, the more $$$ for the cable companies!

Cable companies receive a certain amount of commercial inventory to sell themselves locally on each national cable network. It's not a lot - just 2 or 3 one minute breaks an hour on each network. So that is how they place promos for the shopping networks in their local breaks.

We used to have to write up the orders. We would take turns because it was a pain and we didn't get paid on t - the orders are placed as n/c cable promos.

Q is everywhere.

What's up with them an BETHANY? I can't even figure that out. Not sure I get her show. Never really researched that....since I can't stand her or DAVID it's hard to get interested.

and.....I was in TJ's today. Dooney & B cupcake bags. Tig sm. cross/body bags, both seen on Q fairly recently....and the D&C pants with side pockets are showing up in a much lesser quality off-priced store than Marshall's or TJ's! Quacker as well, and Lori G. stuff. Find it INTERESTING.

When I go to FLA, I always see a lot of D&C in the Bells Outlets....is that where you saw it too?

A few years back, I was shopping a discount store (one of the "Lots" and they were chock full of QVC (small) furniture.

When my oldest was 18, 19 she loved Kathy Van Zeeland bags, she bought every one at T.J. Maxx.

I watch a lot of "CREATE" and Cook's Country especially. In the Kitchen w/ David/QVC is not only advertised, it is a sponsor of the show.
