Some person thought the song "You Better Watch Out" was no better because "he sees you when you're sleeping" etc. so the Elf was no different.
Yet the song is just a silly song. It's not like Santa is really peeking in like this. LOL

@JeanLouiseFinch I didn't know about this one. I looked it up. Thank you for posting.
You're welcome, @Cakers3 . I didn't know about it either until DS told me about it the other day when he and our GD were here for a visit.

Not a fan.... though they have added to the collection with a dog and some other characters that are actually cute.

Similarly, I saw a Facebook post about moving the Mary and Joseph figures from your nativity around your house as they "make their way to Bethlehem".

Not a fan either. I have two that belonged to my Mother so they have to be at least 60 years old - way before they were used in "shelf" story. They are exactly like these with the legs that fold into the arms. I can't part with them because mom loved them.
Since I don't have kids, I don't have to worry about the whole shelf thing and probably wouldn't if I had.
Side note: Not a fan of nutcrackers either. Their grins scared me as a kid.
Finally nice to see someone agree with me I always thought nutcrackers were creepy

for those more adventurous, there are always "snoop on a stoop" and "ranch on a branch." ![]()
if you celebrate hanukkah, there is always "mensch on a bench."

Now I could go for the Ranch on a Branch😁.
If it were a real bottle of dressing, it wouldn't last a week.

Thanks for posting that, wow what an entrepreneurial story! Also don't quite remember her as a QVC host? Maybe she wasn't on long.
she was a host for five years. 2000-2005.
