Irish (me)=Superstitious, but as a child of Depression Era parents, I was also taught that if you saw a coin on the ground it might be the difference between being able to make a purchase or not. 

I ALWAYS PICK UP DROPPED COINS.

Iam not startled by my black Kitty Woman running a ross my path, and she does so a ZILLION times a day!
