Mama Mia, I don't think you did a dumb thing. I thought how great it must be that you were feeling well enough to try something you seem to love (gardening). Sorry you had some difficulty, but I'm happy your husband was close by! :-)

I Like Celery, (like Found better){#emotions_dlg.w00t}, when we lived in Hndsn, we had a rock yard, beautiful rock, then we laid 3800, yes, pavers for walks, had some desert plants, several big rocks and s tree, that was desert friendly. Can't remember the name. It was really pretty, not any gardening. But I was only 50 years old, rode my bike early every am to beat the heat. So it is kind of a bummer, but still going.

My GD put up an article on FB about Hndsn, one is that it is the second safestl city in the US, plus a bunch more nice things.

Have a great summer,{#emotions_dlg.wub}I like the heat.

At least i know I am not alone.

Showme, what a mess you were in, it is scary too, and I am glad you were able to get up. Frustrating that's for sure and I hate it. Can't take a bath anymore because I can't get out of the tub, again, no strength.

<br />

mm

I don't take baths any more either......only showers. Have a fantastic mat down on the tub floor, and it is long enough that I can walk back and forth to get under the shower water. I do need to get one of those handle things though. Am thinking I will have the owner/landlord install it for me. Also, I do take my cell phone in the bathroom with me and put it on the toilet seat lid......that way I could reach it from the tub area if I needed it. Don't think the man upstairs from me would be of any help to me one bit.

Stay safe and keep up the good work you have done this far.

Now Showme, the man upstairs might be delighted to help you out!!{#emotions_dlg.devil2} Just teasing.

We have a shower chair, with one of those extended shower heads, that you pull down. i like it, but never in my life thought I would need one. DH too. But here we are.

mm

Mama.....does your shower chair have handles on it????? Have wondered if I should get one. I do have a shower massager, but it is one that is permanent.....

No, guess none of us ever thought this would be happening to us. And, we wonder why we are out of sorts some of the time.......and people then start on us when we are having one of those days. Maybe we should all stop and think before we post that way to someone....... We have no idea what the other person is feeling like on any given day.

Showme, so sorry I couldn't get back to you right away. Then this morning when I jad answered backour internet went down. Good old Cable one.

I don't have handles on the shower chair we have, got it at Walgreens on sale, lucky, when DH broke his hip. He will not let me shower if he is not here, to give me his hand in and out.

I believe you would like it if you would buy the extension shower head and hopefully your land lord will install it. Very easy, just screw it on.

True, sometimes our feelings show thriugh on our bad days. Please be careful too.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Oh yes, Mama Mia. I have certainly done things and then said "WHY DID I DO THAT??" Most recent was putting one foot out of the shower to grab a hair product and then of course when I got back in I fell.

That is the part of aging that is the worst. Sickness and not able to do what we want when we want.

Perhaps you just need to take it a little slower and make sure dh is close by. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

OMG, scottie, it's those unexpected, easy things we do and they are always our downfall. Hopefully, you didn't break any bones. Yes, it's hard slowing down, but all we can do is try and adapt.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Im so glad your husband was around to help you. I can relate. I get upset too not being able to do what I used to. (mainly dancing!). I have a bad back and try to do things all the time I shouldn't be doing. Ive already got on my knees to try to garden and got stuck too. lol. But I crawled to the porch and grabbed hold and finally got up. So yes I do dumb things all the time too.

Shorty2U, I have always read your posts about how hard your back hurts, and it breaks my heart. Hopefully, hou have found some relief.Smile

Shorty, we used to be very good dancers and loved it, now I would never be able to doit either.

At least we can still crawl, but oh, the knees. Take care.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

OMG, sophiamarie, what an awful fall you had. A neck fracture sounds really frightening!

Your costcochondritis goes away in a few hours? Wow, mine lasted for a couple of weeks, which they said was usual. People with lupus are really prone to getting it and getting it bad, so maybe that's the difference. I'm glad you didn't have to have it for any length of time.

I'm also glad your fracture healing has gone so well Smile

Noel: Just to be clear, I didn't fracture my neck. It was the "neck" of my femur in my thigh which attaches to the hip I think. Anyway, it wasn't anywhere near my head thank heaven...Smile I used a walker for less than 2 weeks, then I was walking by myself. I wouldn't want to get attached to walkers and canes if I don't have to. A neighbor of mine had the same exact procedure that I had, and she is still using a walker - after 3-1/2 years.....She is afraid she'll fall again...

As for the costochondritis, I probably had a couple of acute attacks and then it just went away, but at least when I get it, I know what it is, so it doesn't really scare me. I guess with Lupus, it would be much, much worse.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

Thanks for clarifying about the "neck," sophia. And you are correct, it's COSTO not COSTCO {#emotions_dlg.blush}

Sophiamarie, wow, that was some ordeal for you to go through, and dancing with your dog at that. Love that part. Sometimes doctors get a little hasty in their decisions, obviously. I'm glad too, that the healing has gone so well!

Noel, and Sophiamarie, to think you have both had costochondritis too, I also had that several months ago and it terrified me, thought I was having a heart attack. DH called the paramedics and took me to the hospital. I had never heard of it before, and I hope it doesn't happen again.Noel I feel so bad for you having had it for a couple of weeks. I wonder why people ith lupus are more prone to getting it, I suppose lower immunity.

Both of you take care now, and thanks for sharing.Smile

mm

MM, I'm sorry you had costochondritis, too. You bet, it does feel close to a heart attack. I'm glad your husband made the "just in case" move, you never know for sure.
