Re: Just Curious

[ Edited ]

I like it when a company sends me an email with a percentage off as an incentive because they noticed I have not purchased the item.  However, it does not mean I will purchase.

Lately, I have received a lof of reminders from QVC to purchase an item I have already purchased and has already shipped!  I also receive the "Don't leave these behind." and "Take another Peek."  emails from them.  In fact, I just got one of each of those the other day for an item I had purchased and did not "leave behind"!  Woman LOL

@QVCkitty1 If I really want something I buy it. If I might want it I'll add it to the cart to watch for a sale or if I keep thinking about it I will go back & buy it.

I hope you liked your earrings.

I like that reminder better than the pop up when I am looking at something that says "Marge Pekkerfaurt just bought this" or "Hurry this item is selling fast".

@Dusty1 ,  My point was I talked myself out of the purchase, but the danged earrings followed me around the internet, they weren't even in a cart.

@QVCkitty1 I totally agree!  I really dislike those pop-ups!  They are annoying and distracting.  I do not care that they have sold 2,000 of this item!

For me, I'm a little bit more of a 'leave me alone' person because you are making me NOT want to do business with you.   That's just me.  I wouldn't like being followed around.

I kind of get it, from the business POV, as most people are probably not like me and they are there to make money.   But, ya just have to back off because you're chasing me away.  Smiley Happy

@QVC kitty, Yep Walmart does it al the time.

After I purchase a day later they send me the " did you forget something in your cart?"

I go back  and there is my cart, empty!

I like them though because I can usually get my order the same day, sometimes within an hour or two.Man Happy :-)

The tactic of reminding me of everything I have looked at and getting email reminders just reminds me not buy anything else from that site. I am a tough customer at this point in my life...I know what I want and am turned off with any pressure tactics. Suggestions are find...but only one time.

I put a rash guard hoodie and swim top in my cart on Land's End a few weeks back.  Then I got busy and forgot about them. LE keeps reminding me they're still there.

The prices are cheaper than I'll see until next year at this time. So, do I really want them?? Hm...I would use both of these extensively next year.  And the price is great.  So, yes, in this case I'll probably return to the site to buy them.

Having said that, most of the jewelry items I look at on Q and get reminded about, I talk myself out of.  But I seldom wear jewelry anymore and have too much already.
