Just Can't Catch A Break....

[ Edited ]

Still full of sorrow over the unexpected death of my best friend last month--we were BFF's for over 30 years.  I decided to get off the couch and get a much needed haircut.  Don't drive much anymore because of my arthritis, but decided I'd be a "big girl" and give it a try.  On the way home I was pulled over by the police for not wearing my seat belt!  Just can't catch a break....thanks for letting me vent....

I'm sorry about that.  Some days, some weeks, some years, the hits just keep on coming.  Wishing you a better day tomorrow, and the day after that.  Need to put you on a winning streak.  Smiley Happy

Re: Just Can't Catch A Break....

Hang in there, some days are better than others.  I'm so sorry about your BFF - it's heartbreaking to lose someone like that.

Having a bad day myself.  Insurance is trying to bill me over $3,000 for an ambulance when my plan clearly says $200 co pay - in network or out of network - go figure - I'm trying to stay calm - have a lot in my favor and will work through it calmly.  They are "iinvestigating" the situation.  I'm filing an appeal tomorrow.

@nana59 did  your haircut at least pep up your sad  mood?I can't figure out how the police officer noticed that you weren't wearing the seat belt. That stinks but it is supposed to save your life.My son got pulled over once for speeding even though the officer had not recorded his speed. He handcuffed and checked my son for hidden stuff on his person. My poor son was taking his girlfriend home and now he had to do it with a police escort. The officer followed our son home and came in to chat with us about the incident. My son had never been in trouble and all of his insurance etc was current and he hadn't been drinking alcohol.I was a little angry with the officer at first for putting my don through all of that humiliation for nothing but then I thought...mmm could save his life though. He was shaken up and I am sure he drove with much more caution after that.He is 30 now and zero speeding tickets to his record.

My daughter asked the same question about how he knew I wasn't wearing my seatbelt if he was behind me-but I remember watching something on tv that they are trained to do so.  No, he did not give me a ticket.....maybe because I was crying like a little baby-seems everthing brings me to tears these days...thanks for caring...

I think you just read my response to SeaMaiden about the seatbelt.  Sorry your son went through that incident..but glad he has a good driving record.  I think my husband appreciates my haircut..I was looking pretty shaggy!  Thanks for asking!

Re: Just Can't Catch A Break....

@nana59 I am so very sorry about the loss of your friend, I too lost my BFF several years ago very unexpected, so I know the pain you are feeling, though the pain never goes away, it does become easier to face each day, give yourself time to grieve (there is no time frame) and remember her with smiles & love!

It does seem some days that life cannot let us catch a break, please do not let it discourage you from venturing out again and doing something for yourself, life is always going to bring us challenges but we can always rise above them and tell ourselves that there will be better days ahead, we just need to learn to face them with grace so that the beauty of life can once again shine through you!

Prayers & hugs being sent your way!
