@MoJoV oh I know, totally! My husband understands it all much more than I do and sometimes will just go on and on about it and my eyes glaze over because I simply cannot FATHOM it all! I mean the sheer complexity and vasntess of it all is mind-boggling!

@HappyDaze wrote:Really? No one is a science/astronomy/physics nerd like myself and watched NASA tv as Juno inserted into Jupiter's orbit after a 5 year flight? It was exciting, nerve wracking and fascinating and really was a tribute to our amazing country on its' Independence day! It is amazing what brilliant minds can do.
I've been watching @HappyDaze! I am totally into it and I think it is so interesting. It is amazing to me as well how no one seems to care. I have got a friend who works for NASA and we laughed because he told me about an experiment he did on FB. He would put up videos regarding this very subject and he would only get few likes and few comments. He then would put up clips of Love and Hip Hop and The Kardashians (both of which he doesn't watch) and get many more comments and likes. It would be funny but I find it kind of sad.

My eyes are always on the night sky, and Jupiter is a very bright light to the naked eye. I am fascinated, and our exploration is a source of wonder and hope, especially knowing that the earth will not be around forever.
I look up to Arcturus, Vega, Polaris, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn. I'm seeing Leo, Scorpio, the Big and little dippers and so on. Seeing the Andromeda galaxy with the naked eye really got me interested in the answers and the questions.

@skuggles it really IS fascinating, isn't it? We are fortunate enough to live where we can see the night sky blanketed with stars and some planets without the interference of city lights, etc. It takes my breath away every night to look up there and wonder....and imagine...and hope.

@HappyDaze I have about 5 apps on my phone that I love. They help me locate everything and this makes stargazing so much easier, than prior to the creation of this technology. I'm sure the technological advances that will aid in Juno's exploration are phenomenal in comparison. My favorite is SkyView.

I'm very interested in this, and have posted about it in a Facebook group I'm in.
On this board, I get discouraged by all the posters who claim that no one in this country has been taught math, history, spelling, etc..in the last 30 years!
So this just isn't where I come to discuss things with people who think no one under the age of 60 can even manage simple math skills.

I did watch it! I'm space/science fiction/science fanatic and I was on the edge of my seat! I cannot even comprehend the magnitude of such a project. And we get to see it unfold on our tv's...
