Junior league question

Do you know much about this organization?

My cousin joined last year. So far this year she's been on 5 retreats, had lavish wine parties, dinner parties and silent auctions of stuff each member donates and then buys back from each other.

I know they do good with the community but does this group spend more on themselves and their events than other charities?
