We are a military family, and display our flag everyday. We take it down each day when we hear the base playing Taps for the flag lowering. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

@Marp

Yes, today is Flag Day.

On this particular day, though, flag etiquette dictates

all American Flags should be flown at HALF STAFF until sunset 6/16.

@sidsmom, thank you for pointing that out.  I should have mentioned fly the flag at half staff this year in my OP.

June 14th is......My mom and dad's 75th wedding anniversary!  Married on Flag Day, June 14, 1941, at Ft. Riley KS during the big war.  Yes, they were The Greatest Generation!

I fly a flag all year round and I make sure my flag is illuminated at night.

I finally transitioned to those LED/Smart lightbulbs because I got tired of going out into knee deep snow at night when the light didn't come on and my flag was in the dark.  I can't have that.

I must say, those bulbs really have a long life - still on the first one months and months later, lol.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.
